I got into the lunch room to find everybody in their spots again but this time Cole was there. Not that I didn't mind, but I mean he did hit me and Hope. I held my face at the thought. I started to walk toward them hearing faint foot steps behind me. It was most likely Nathan. I sat down next to Beau hearing the foot steps get louder. Finally the person came into my view. It was Nathan. His eyes a bit puffed. Was he crying? The thougt left as soon as I thought about it. The whole time I tried not to make eye contact with Cole. It would've been to awkward. "So are you gonna sit there all day and not move or even speak Maxwell?" Cody asked. I snapped out of my thoughts and looked up at him. "When was the last time you go at least an hour of sleep?" Beau asked. I sat in silence for a moment, thinking about the question. "Maybe a week ago?" I replied. His eyes opened big. "Why aren't you sleeping?" Nathan asked. His voice was lower than normal. "I keep having nightmares and stuff. I don't know. It's weird." I said looking back away. Cole still didn't say anything to me. No apology, no 'I lost control.', no 'I didn't mean to.' He was just staring like everything was all fine. Maybe he couldn't remember it? Like when people get so mad they can't remember what happened. Beau flick his hand up to look at his watch. I love when he does that. "I'd tell you to go take a nap, but it's only 2:06. (pm)" He said putting his hand on the table again. Time was going by slow today. I opened my mouth to say something but before I could Hope came in the lunch room. "Yo babe, we uh... We need to talk." She said pointing to me and back to her. "What's wrong?" I said standing up. I was so tired I almost lost balance. Hopefully they didn't notice it. I never even noticed how tired I was. She leaned closer in to whisper something into my ear. "It's Luther." She said pulling away. I looked towards the group to see if they were listening in, but Cody was distracting them with some magic tricks. Wow, we really trust our life with him. I smiled at the thought. "Is he okay?" I asked. "He's fine, but we need to go somewhere nobody can hear us." She said. She was pulling me into the gym and to the top of the bleachers. She looked behind me seeing if anybody was behind us. "Okay, we were outside planting and he grazed my hand." She said gasping. "And?" I questioned. "Dude! He. Grazed. My. Hand." She stopped. "Afterwards he said he really felt for me since he first laid eyes on me. I know it's the zombie apocholypse, but hey. Love is still love. I'm not agruing." She finished. I laughed at her. "What..?" She said looking away. "Nothing, it's just...cute." I said still lauging. She got red again. "Maxwell, we need you." Cody yelled. I turned around to see Cody, Sophia, Matthew, and Beau. i raised my finger to motion for them to hold on. "Okay, go for it." I said turning back to Hope. "Go for it?" She questioned. "Yeah, love is love right? I believe in you guys." I said smiling. She smiled back and lunged for a hug. "I fuckin love you." she said. I laughed and told her I loved her too. She ran down the stairs and back outside. I went down the stairs to Cody. "What is it?" I crossed my arms. Jesus, I am busy today. "Theres this place we wanted to take you and Sophia." Matthew said gripping his habd tighter to Sophia's. "It's really beautiful. It's in the woods and there is a platform up in a tree. We have to climb, but you can do it." Beau said. "So do you want to come?" Cody asked. "Why not? Sounds fun. I'm in." I said uncrossing my arms. How come they chose me?
