It felt like days before we got out of the woods. We seen a playground. Was this a elementary school? No it couldn't of been I thought. We were just deep in the woods. The vacant place made everybody feel as if this was a bad idea.
"Emalea? Is that you?!". We all jumped and turned around. A tall male with black hair and dark eyes. He was wearing a plade shirt and some jeans. "I'm sorry..?" I looked around. "Oh, come on. Don't play stupid at a time like this? Come on inside, there's people in there you may want to see." He replied.I stared at him with a confused stare. He walked off to the school, but we stayed behind. "Are you coming or not?" He said. "I don't know who you are you see, I woke up in the woods with the rest of these people and we don't remember anything. We only remember our names and a few other things. I don't know much about me." I said.
He had a straight face, but it quickly turned into a half grin. "Haha! You're kidding me right? Stop being like that Maxwell and come on." He said. We just had a blank face and stared, that's when he knew we were being serious. He told us all about who we were and the memories we had. We chuckled at them. I was 15 years old in only a few months. His name was Cody. Very nice boy and was very smart. Cody was 14 like most of us. He told us about the outbreak and that its not safe out here so we went inside.
So many faces I remember but also are confused about. Cody introduced us to people we already knew but couldn't remember. A boy named Beau. He had glasses, was taller then me, and was 14. He had brown hair and brown eyes. Very funny. Then there was Jason. He was tan and had dark hair and eyes. He was very kind.
"Cole!" Jason had yelled. By the time Cole had turned around, Jason had his hands around him. "Oh thank god. You were gone for a week man. I thought you guys were dead." He said. Cole stared. Cody took Jason to the side and told him the story about us. "I don't feel to confertable here." Sophia whispered. "Yeah. It seems to," Scarlett stoppes. "Safe here. Something seems off." She finished. "Come on guys, we knew these people. Why would the want to hurt us?" Savannah gently hit Sophia's arm. "What if we didn't really know these people.
They just claimed we did to use us for something?" I said. Cole looked at me and shook his head. "You guys are wrong. We knew these people look over there." He pointed at a picture that had been taped up. It was our sixth grade picture from field day and another picture of all of us from Marching Band, besides Cole. I looked down. Maybe he was right. Maybe they are our friends and wants to help us out?
Cody came back at a silent approach. "You guys hungry? There's food in the lunch room. Eat. We need you guys healthy." He said in a calm voice.
We all walked to the lunch room. The smell of soup ran through our nose. Our stomachs growled at us. "I'm so hungry you guys." Savannah said as she sat next to us with her plate. We barley talked while we ate. "The bathrooms are down the hall if you need to wash up. You'll sleep in the gym. We have plenty of space for you guys." Cody said. "What if one of those 'creatures' get in?"Savannah askes. "Oh, the zombies you mean? Haha, you don't have to worry about those things, we have shifts. 5 people at once. One in the back of the school, one in the front, and the rest at the end of the main halls." He replied. "Well, do you guys need any help with anything? Dishes, keeping watch, ect.?" Cole asked. "If we need anything we will tell you." Cody said while looking at his watch. "Its almost 8:30. You guys can get some sleep now if you'd like." Cody said. Without hesitation, we all got up and went to the gym. Within ten minutes we all were sound asleep.
