I woke up late this time. I was one of the last awake. Everybody had already eaten breakfast and was just chatting. I walked over to the rest of the group. "Well, look who is finally awake." Savannah crossed her arms. "Yeah, sorry guys. Didn't get much sleep last night. I kept having some weird dreams about this place." I responded.
"Hey guys! Its been three days now. Doesn't feel like it does it? Well, we usually don't let people leave the school but if you guys would like to leave the school and search for supplies and stuff, you're more than welcome to." Cody said. He gazed at his watch.
"Ah, just make sure you check out so we know when you're gone. Anyways, I have to go. I need to met up with Jessie and Gracie on the roof." He said. I thought to myself. Who was this Gracie? Why on the roof? Were they keeping watch? We decided to make groups. Me, Sophia, and Cole were a team while Scarlett and Savannah were. We didn't have a certain objective to what we were finding. If we found something useful, we'd grab it. That was our only plan we had.
We split up. My group went towards the Dollar General while Scarlett and Savannah went the opposite direction. We decided to met up at the school before it got dark. We only had knifes that Cody gave us with us. We wished each other luck and hoped for the best.
"If anything dangerous happens, run back to the school as fast as you can. Don't do anything stupid." I told them. We went off now.The air was cold and foggy. The ground was damp like it had rained but not once we had heard the rain hit the roof at the school. We pasted many houses but not many creatures were around. Did someone kill them all already? I was just glad we weren't in any danger so far. We got to the Shell Station by the Dollar General and close to a motel. The glass was broken and it seemed empty. "Is it even worth a look?" Asked Sophia. "Might as well. We didn't walk here for nothing." Replied Cole. We went in, alert, knifes in hands. There was no sound in there besides us.
The store wasn't big but it had a built in Subway. Only a few pieces of bread was there, we took them. We went to the refrigerator towards the back. It had some cokes left and two water bottles left. We also took those. Blood was splattered on one of the refrigerators. I gaged as I smelled it. "That's a smell I'm not to fond of" said Sophia. We walked to the Dollar General not to far from the Shell Station. There was some milk that was still cold in there and only a few snacks. We happened to be a little lucky and found some new clothes and shoes that fit us there. Once we were done searching, we decided to go look at the Motel that was close. It was small but had a few apartments. The one I had went into smelled of decaying bodies. There was no sign of one until I opened the bathroom door, a girl had hung herself from the railing of the shower curtain. Dried blood was on her neck and her eyes glazed. She was one of them now. She tried to get down from the noose but only swung herself back and forth. I ran, fast, to find the rest with some more supplies. "Hey, what happened?" Sophia asked. "Don't.. Go... In.. There." I had said trying to breath normal again. Cole had found some more knifes while Sophia found a handgun. We looked up at the sun. "We should head back" said Cole. I wasn't going to argue with him.
