Making Up Is Hard To Do

I spent the next few hours alone, crying off and on into my pillow, before splashing water on my face to get rid of any redness or puffiness and heading down to the kitchen to get something to eat. Deciding on something simple, I made a sandwich and started heading back to the bedroom, I could bring the plate back later.

Around 8 I took the plate back downstairs, taking down the barrier spell before I left the room. While I still didn't necessarily want to talk, I wasn't going to deprive him of sleeping in his own bed either.

When he finally tried coming to bed, I was half asleep, and he seemed shocked he could now enter the bedroom. He changed into his pajamas, crawling into bed and hesitantly wrapping his arms around me. When I didn't immediately push him away he pulled me closer to him, placing my head on his chest and kissing my forehead.

I was still slightly upset but I wanted someone to cuddle with. Wiggling in closer to him, I placed my hand on his chest and wrapped my leg around his waist, burying my head underneath his chin. He seemed shocked, inhaling sharply before quickly relaxing into the embrace.

"I'm sorry Flower, I didn't mean to hurt you, that was never my intention." He whispered

"I know, now please let me sleep" I grumbled in response

"I love you"

"I love you too.... Now let me sleep!"

Lightly chuckling, he kissed the top of my head, evidently opting to not say anything else and oblige my request. Unbeknownst to me at the time, Xenophilius's had already come up with a plan to try and rectify the situation.

Everything seemed to go back to normal, that was until Luna randomly ran up to me a few weeks later talking about how she 'couldn't wait to go to Aunt Lily's house on Saturday'..... What? I couldn't help but ask her about this new revelation.

"What are you talking about baby? Why would you be going to Aunt Lily's on Saturday?" I asked

"Daddy said I can't tell, it's a secret" she whispered

I feigned shock, I wasn't surprised in the slightest that he was planning something but I was curious what it was given that we apparently couldn't bring Luna with us.

"Really? But Daddy and I don't keep secrets" I whispered back

"I...." She looked confused and slightly conflicted about telling me, pouting slightly

"Awww baby, you and daddy can keep your surprise for me a secret, I love you." I couldn't help but laugh a little, she's adorable.

"Ok, I love you too Mummy"

Leaning down, I kissed her on the cheek before asking her something different to change the subject.

"What do you want to do at Aunt Lily's house?"

"Harry and I could play hide and seek with Marshmallow again, she's really good at it." Luna answered

Marshmallow is Lily and James half Neazle/half cat, she quite pretty, with her coat being more like that of a Seal Point Siamese, she also absolutely adores Harry. James and Lily have another half kneazle, he's orange and white, and a giant puff ball. His name is Marmalade but he doesn't like Harry very much, mainly because he likes to chase him around the house on a little toy broomstick Sirius bought him years ago.

They got Marshmallow for Harry as a companion, around the same time they found out Lily was expecting another baby. Euphemia is 2 now, so they've had Marshmallow for roughly 3 years. Lily's old half Neazle/half cat, Butterscotch, had died a few months before they got Marshmallow. He'd been her companion throughout Hogwarts and was roughly 13 years old when he passed away.
