It was 1am for me when you woke up
You yelled at me for being awake
Told me to go to sleep
I told you I'd waited so long for you to wake up
You went to bed at 5pm
But it would've been 11pm for you
So it completely makes sense
I was getting my hair done
Last night was awful
And awful spiraling of thoughts
Going down rabbit holes I shouldn't
And on top of that I couldn't sleep
For 30 minutes I whined and said I missed you
My tired mind dragged on
About how gorgeous you are
You must've told me to go to bed
A million times
You said we could call on Friday
Because you were going to be busy
Today and I am busy tomorrow
So when I told you this morning
That I missed you
I didn't expect you to say
That you had a couple hours to spare
And despite being at work
I knew I needed to call you then
So I did
And it didn't take you long to go,
"Hey wamen," in that voice you always do
And I looked up
And of all the things in the world
The last thing I expected
Was to see your camera pop on
And there you were
Makeup-less
In fact you were sitting at your desk
Doing your makeup
And so I turned on my camera too
And we talked for an hour and a half
Now I'm on a high
That will last the whole day
You must've been in a good mood
To show that gorgeous face of yours
Seeing as how bad you try to keep it
From everyone else
And I never understood why
Because I'll never forget seeing it for the first time
I swear it was like the wind was knocked out of me
And I still feel it every time you send a new one
And it's even better when it's video
That's when I can see your real beauty
You really must've been in a good mood
Only your eyebrows were done
And while I always think you're beautiful
You never seem to agree
Which is why I was so surprised
That you even turned it on
Before your makeup was done
But what a lovely surprise indeed.
