CHAPTER FORTY-ONE
I KNEW YOU'D MISS ME

AFTER A LONG NIGHT OF TALKING with her family, Anabelle was now lead outside of her father's hospital room. Although he had gotten better, he was still told that they needed to run some tests. The girl leant over a chair fast asleep, her phone in one hand and the other resting beneath her face. The hospital was fairly quiet at a time like this, and if it weren't for Melissa telling the other doctors that she was meant to be there, Belle would've been kicked out by now.

Suddenly, her phone began to vibrate, and the girl jolted awake, sitting up and groaning as she did so, until she saw exactly who was calling her.

Liam.

Anabelle paused, hesitating to answer. She wasn't sure what he was going to say. Usually, the Stilinski found herself ignoring the problem until it eventually would go away, but not this time.

Liam wasn't a problem to her, he was a necessity. And she would be there for him every single time he needed something.

And so, Belle swiped, holding the phone up to her ear as she listened to the fast breathing on the other side of the line.

"Uh. Hi." Liam spoke nervously, and Belle quirked a brow as she listened, swallowing a lump in her throat.

"You called?" She hummed, not knowing where this was leading.

"Yeah. It's- It's Hayden. She's alive. I just called cause I thought you'd wanna know..." Liam spoke into the phone, and Anabelle shot up in her seat, relief washing over her.

"She's alive?!"

"Yeah- Yeah, she's alive."

"Well- I wanna see her. Where is she?!" Anabelle replied, already picking up her stuff to leave the hospital.

"I'm on my way to go find her right now. I'm about to pass the hospital. You can come with, I guess." Liam offered, and Belle could sense in his tone that he didn't want her coming with him. But she needed to find Hayden, and her depressing and collapsing love life wasn't going to get in the way of seeing her alive.

"I'll see you in a minute, then."

...

Anabelle was panicking. And not just that internal worry of what was going to happen. She literally could not breathe as she made her way towards the car parked in the parking lot, which held Liam inside— waiting for her. And if it were daylight, everyone would think she'd just smoked a dozen joints before hand, seeing as her eyes were red and squinted from the amount of tears she'd shed from the past twenty four hours.
