Reader's POV

I sighed, I was so damn hungry. Just because I skipped dinner didn't mean that I wasn't hungry, it just meant that I was more tired than I was hungry. Also, I don't think that I can sleep properly anyway without my bath. Though after all this, I don't want to have Reiner prepare a bath. I have to tell him what happened today and I don't think that he should have to do work after that.

I walked through my chambers and heard a sound. Could someone have broken in? I withdrew my sword and walked toward the sound which was coming from my bed?! It sounded like snoring. Still, I was cautious, I walked toward the bed slowly and saw that someone was sleeping there.

Reiner.

He always does this whenever he's feeling lazy since my bed is more comfortable. 'A bed fit for royalty' he likes to say. It should be though. It would be a problem if it wasn't since it was my bed.

I would be fine with it any other day but today? No way. I was too furious for words to describe it. Even though it wasn't his fault, well maybe a little bit for napping on my bed but I wanted to punch him. I didn't though, I had been pissed off on other things before and I controlled my anger just fine, I did the same thing then.

"Reiner," I said, waking him up, being the light sleeper that he was.

"Oh, Y/N. I was just about to get up," he replied sleepily.

I didn't say another word as he changed the sheets and then sat on the couch. He asked me to sit opposite him and I did.

"You look like you want to say something," he said.

"What makes you think that?"

"We've been friends for years, you can't fool me."

I sighed, giving in, "A lot of shit happened today."

"Wow, such colourful language."

"You want to hear it or not?" I kept myself from snapping.

"Alright, go ahead."

"So Mikasa and Levi had a duel."

"You approved it?"

"I said that Mikasa could ask Levi for an optional duel, I didn't expect him to accept."

"And Mikasa injured him," Reiner laughed to himself.

"No."

"What happened then?"

I bit my lip, not really wanting to say it, "Mikasa lost," I muttered under my breath.

"WHAT?!" he exclaimed after somehow hearing.

"Don't mention it to her, okay? If I lost to someone then I would be really upset, it would be a big blow to my pride. It's probably the same for her."

Reiner looked like I just told him that there were titans in Paradis's walls. He didn't say anything so I just continued.

"And he made his first attempt to kill me."

"HE WHAT?!" Reiner yelled again.

I thought that he was way too overwhelmed for me to tell him about the Empress's letter and the letter I sent my father so I didn't say anything else.

"And some other minor stuff but these are the headlines."

Reiner slumped back into the couch, still processing what I had just told him. He looked sleepy when he started the conversation but now, he looked like he had just seen a ghost.

"Anyway," I continued, "Go to your room and get some sleep before I assign you a job that I've been thinking about."

"You tell me a horror story and expect me to go to sleep! If he can beat Mikasa then the rest of the palace is like flies to him! If he snaps and goes on a killing spree then we're all done for!"
