Narrator's POV

"We can discuss this insignificant stuff later," Niccolo cut in, pushing a breakfast trolley over to Y/N's bed and setting up a small table, "Your Highness should have breakfast first."

"You think that this is insignificant?" Marlowe asked, disbelieved by what Niccolo said.

"Yes," Niccolo confirmed, "Maintaining Her Highness's disguise is important but you can't do that if she is dead because she didn't eat anything!"

"But what if Levi reports back to the Empress?"

"Her Highness hasn't eaten for days! I don't understand how she isn't feeling hungry enough to eat first!" Niccolo yelled at the others before turning to Y/N and scolding her, "Your Highness has terrible eating habits! Your Highness just randomly skips meals on your normal schedule when you're feeling fine! When you're sick, you lessen your meals to almost half when you should eat more to get better! And, when you're depressed, you stop eating altogether! You've been doing this for seventeen years! Ever since you were born! And you always hit those who try to stop you"

Flashback

"Princess," Niccolo addressed Historia, "Her Highness is refusing to eat."

"She must be full then."

"But she barely ate anything."

"That must be because you gave her a salad," Historia got up from her bed and put her book aside to see what Niccolo had prepared, "Y/N doesn't like salads."

"But salads are good for her health," Niccolo said.

"But she's too young to understand that," Mother giggled and Niccolo glanced at the twelve months old child that was a picky eater and unfortunately for Niccolo, was assigned for him to take care of in terms of feeding her.

"Historia," Ymir entered the room and casually addressed the princess, "It's time to take Y/N out for a walk. Is she done eating?"

"I don't think so. She refuses to eat," Historia shook her head.

"You're terrible at this," Ymir told Niccolo as she grabbed the tiny fork from Niccolo's hands and tried to feed her instead, "Say ahh."

Y/N still refused to open her mouth.

"Ugh," Ymir frowned, "This is pointless. She won't eat these leaves. Give her some real food."

"These aren't leaves! This is a French salad from Princess Historia's hometown-"

"This rascal doesn't care," Ymir pulled a lollipop out of her pocket, unwrapped it and handed it to Y/N who immediately tried to reach out for it, "She's a kid. Don't feed her salads."

"She's twelve months old! You can't give her candies!" Niccolo exclaimed.

"I agree with Niccolo, Ymir," Historia scolded, "She's too young to be fed candies."

"Whatever."

"Your Highness, please give that to me," Niccolo tried to take the candy away from the Y/N who was happily tasting it only to have his hand harshly slapped away, "Ow!"

"Y/N! No!" Historia scolded as Ymir laughed.

"She's really strong," Niccolo commented.

"I know," Ymir agreed, "Yesterday, she was holding my finger and I decided to teach her to stand and apparently, she didn't want to so she squeezed it so hard that it almost broke."

"She's a child. You're both exaggerating it. She couldn't be that strong. I'm sure that she will give the candy to me," Historia picked up her child to look at her and try to take the candy, Y/N pushed her hand away, not harshly but strongly enough to send the message that she wasn't taking it from her, "Or not."
