Reader's POV
"How the hell is she his mother?!" I grabbed an asleep Reiner's collar.
It was the middle of the night. I had left the Ackerman mother and son to talk things out among themselves after reuniting after what I guessed was a long time. I came back to my room to see Reiner asleep on my bed with Aether by his side and I guessed that he had thrown me on the couch.
"H-Huh?!" Reiner was startled as he stared at me with widened eyes, still half asleep.
"I thought I had a chance with her! But she can't possibly be interested in me after knowing that I'm younger than her son!" I continued my sob story, "I'm happy that they were reunited but why couldn't she just be his sister?!"
"Hu-huh?!" Reiner was still not able to grasp the situation.
"I almost saved Mikasa from the trouble of pretending to be courting me and going to those stupid parties!"
"Wha-wha?" Reiner was still being stupid.
As usual.
"Wake up!" I sternly shook him by the collar, "Get out of my bed! Clean up my makeup! Get my nightclothes out!"
"Y-yes Your Highness," Reiner stuttered as he got up, feeling shook by my sudden sense of authority that acted up when my hormones were out of order.
Once Reiner was kind of awake and had cleared off my makeup, he thought to ask about what I told him when he was semi conscious, "What were you talking about just now?"
I sighed before starting, "I sleep-walked to the corridor and woke up because I bumped my head on the wall. I have to thank you this time for being lazy because if you had taken off my disguise then I could have been caught."
"I know, right? I'm amazing," Reiner looked proud.
"Don't do that again, though. I was extremely uncomfortable."
"Noted."
"So," I continued, "I heard a disturbance and I looked down from the balcony to see what it was. It was Jean, Sasha and Marco trying to stop a beautiful woman from getting in the castle. She stole my heart."
"Was she a refugee?" Reiner completely ignored my feelings.
"Yes."
"Then how were they not able to take her away and then talk to her?"
"She was an Ackerman."
"Oh. Wait, what?" Reiner looked baffled, completely blown away.
"It's true," I explained my story in great detail, "I stepped downstairs to see what the commotion was about and that was when I felt her blood reacting with mine. I went to them and talked to Marco who explained that she wanted to get into the castle but couldn't explain why because she was mute. I sent them away to talk to her in private because I couldn't exactly reveal to them that she was a descendant of one of the three powerful bloodlines and deserving of a high ranked title. I talked to her and she seemed privy of the fact that she was an Ackerman and was desperate to get into the castle."
"What happened next?" Reiner shoved popcorn into his mouth that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
"I said that I couldn't just let her in because even though she was an Ackerman, I hadn't identified her as someone who wasn't a threat to me. Then, she started crying and I didn't know what to do so I just let her in because even though she was an Ackerman, she was unarmed while I had a sword and was supposedly stronger than her so even if she tried to kill me, I could defend myself. We got to the first floor, where we are now and she didn't know where exactly it was that she needed to go."
