Levi's POV

What the shit?

What is going on?

What is this job?

The people in the prince's military are lucky.

They don't have to switch their work every day.

I thought that my job was to protect the prince from others.

Not protect others from him.

"Levi!" The big blond dude called out, holding the prince's waist from behind and attempting to pull him back but needless to say, it had no effect whatsoever, "Help us!"

"Ugh!" The gloomy brat tried to loosen the prince's grasp on the collar of the man he was threatening while the man seemed to be so scared, it seemed like he could drop dead at any moment. What was surprising was that even the gloomy brat couldn't pull him away. She was strong and usually strong enough to affect the prince's actions but it seemed like he was really fucking mad right now and it was clear as day (or night, in this case) that he couldn't be stopped.

"Pass," I responded coolly, my hands shoved into my pockets to prevent them from freezing in the cold I wasn't used to. All of this was none of my business. I wouldn't give a shit if the prince killed that guy and the same if he let him go. If I want to live up to his expectations then I should try to not get in his way.

Besides, I'm supposed to protect him, not stop him from going on a killing spree.

He's free to do that if he wants to.

As long as he doesn't hurt my friends.

I got lost in thought before I breathed out from my mouth as I flinched and took a step back to look at the air.

I could see it.

What is this?

Is this what Furlan said, that in the world above the ground, when it gets cold, the moisture from a person's breath condenses and it becomes visible?

This is strange.

But I wish those two could see it too.

I felt cold as I looked around at the snowflakes pouring down from the sky and pulled out my hand from my pocket to put my hand through the air. A few landed on my hand and melted immediately but not before I could see the intricate and extremely beautiful designs on the snowflakes. If I had anything to compare it to, I would compare it to Y/N. I didn't know what she was like as a person but the one thing I couldn't deny was that she was absolutely stunning and had beauty that had its own unique intricate designs that no one else had.

Maybe that is why the prince hid her. There are two women left in the Imperial Family and one of them has a suitor. The other one would too had she not been the Empress's own daughter. The prince must have wanted his sister to live without any chains restraining her and decided to hide her instead of risking having the Empress sell her off to an old bastard.

I sighed and saw my cold breath in the air as I bent down and ran my hands through the thick piles of snow that started on the ground and reached my knees, soaking my shoes and pants.

It was cold.

I looked around me. Some people living in the Underground had gathered to welcome the prince before the prince had suddenly become furious and decided to kill the manager of the place for not taking care of the place or the people properly.

I thought about the prince's sister again. I sort of felt...mesmerised by seeing her. If I paid attention to the prince then I would feel the same for him. And when the prince's relatives were here, I kind of felt like challenging them.
