Reader's POV

I walked toward the room that I was supposed to be inhabiting for the next few days while I would be staying in the North. Reiner had taken the manager away to clean him up before he brought him to me. There was quite a good guard formation surrounding me. Mikasa and Levi were behind me. Mikasa was on my left and Levi on my right, as always. However, this time, more guards were securing me because even though I personally owned this place, it was still foreign to me and it would take time until I properly secured it just like my own palace and Stohess.

Petra was ahead of me, to my right along with Sasha. Ahead of me, on my left was Oluo who was not seeming to be a pretty good match with Connie as he joked around with his superior who tried to seem mysterious but couldn't if he bit his own tongue every two seconds. On my back towards my right were Eld and Jean. Eld, even though was not the captain, was the second in command. Eld was the best in leadership but wasn't chosen captain because Petra had the best teamwork. Despite how it seemed, Jean had good leadership so he was paired up with Eld leaving Gunther and Marco to my left on my back.

My army was a very strong one consisting of many squads but I realised that it lacked a special superior squad consisting of the best. I decided to make a Special Operations Squad who would be the most elite squad in the army. And I couldn't find anyone in my army or guards better suited for the Special Operations Squad than the Special Guard Squad. I had Erwin offer them the jobs and they all accepted on the spot. But if the Special Guard Squad was going to be doing something else, who would be doing their jobs?

That meant that I needed a new Special Guard Squad.

And that was Jean, Marco, Sasha and Connie.

Because even if they were new compared to a few of the old members, they were still amazing and grasped techniques quicker than their superiors. Jean was great at the vertical manoeuvring done with the little amount of gear that Father provided us with since the iron bamboo and gas were hard to come by before I found my own reserves to make more of it. Sasha had great instincts and Connie was quick in the air. Marco, however, was a quicker thinker than any of them and completed the team.

They were going to be the next Special Guard Squad and needed to be personally trained by the current Special Guard Squad to uphold their duties properly and they needed to grasp the concepts before the Special Guard Squad was transferred to the army and given different duties.

And as for the Special Guard Spuad's transition training into the army, Ymir was handling it when the guard squad wasn't training their replacements.

I reached the room in the castle I was supposed to be staying in as the special guard squad and their replacements bowed and left, leaving me with Levi and Mikasa. Mikasa opened the door of the room for me as I entered and showed my disappointment.

"This isn't a castle. These are ruins," I commented on the place.

"Maybe you should've listened when Mr. Smith called this place the Utgard Castle Ruins and not Utgard Castle instead of staring off into space," Mikasa scoffed and stepped ahead towards the fireplace as she saw that the firewood had already been delivered and she just had to light it up.

I turned to Levi to see his surprised face which was so after seeing how casually Mikasa was talking to me.

"No one has any respect for me anymore."

"They wouldn't if you complained about a castle room prepared for you in the middle of nowhere after you requested preparations to be made in less than three days," Mikasa lit the fireplace

"Levi," I ignored Mikasa, "Where's your room?"

"I...don't know," Levi said as he forgot the honorifics but I didn't say anything about it.
