Nakita's p.o.v

Jay went back home and so did I we were gonna take a break from the break and just settle down from this emotional roller coaster Jay and I been riding so far. I have no idea what made him come out and say such thing. I feel like it was new to him by the way he cried and how slightly hesitant he was. 

Jay has lived a tough life and I wanna be apart of it only to support him during his hardest times and help him get through things.

I decided to call Steven, its been a while since I talked to the guy I first met.

"Hello?", he answered with his cute London accent. I loved it, I could talk to this guy for hours.

"Steven!"

He chuckled, "Must be you Nakita."

"Yes, yes it is. I miss my dear friend. How have you been?"

"Ah, I've been doing a lot of things working on getting my license. Haven't been talking to a lot of people because of this online course of drivers Ed."

"Aw, you poor thing. I have a book I haven't read yet, but what your doing sounds easier."

"Maybe, it's sort of boring. I don't like reading. I'm more of an active person who likes to work with things and move around."

"Really? You don't play sports, however."

"Well, I like math and building things. Plus, the guys on the team are like way bigger than me I couldn't survive on the football field or the basketball court, it's — it's scary."

I laughed, ''Wow Steven, you seem pretty bold to me."

"I have more brains that broad sweetheart."

"Yeah, I can concur."

"Yeah, what were you bored or something?"

"Yeah and I didn't forget about you and Jay by the way. "

"You— you didn't forget? That's surprising I've forgotten myself! But how did you manage to get it out of him? It's nearly impossible! You know I've tried on Jessica before?"

"It isn't impossible, but I've been spending lots of time with him and eventually he just told me. Like, one time late at night—early in the morning, he was up watching TV. I asked him if he was alright, he said yeah, but then he began to get teary eyed and then he just practically told me how he felt. Then today we went to like some place he went to as a kid and let me know what happened during the night he met his dad."

"Was it the same plot I described for you?"

I hesitated as I began to tell Steven how he did not give me as much as information Jay me but I held my tongue because I remember that Jay said he doesn't know much as he does.

"Well, yeah I can say yes."

"Did he tell you why he ran off?"

"Y——yes."

"You sure?"

"Yes."

"Tell me, please. I've demand to know this is my brother don't wait to tell me.''

"I— I .."

"Nakita tell me!"

"I can't your gonna have to have some kind of closure with him. This family problem you guys been holding a grudge over has nothing to do with me I'm sorry. I mean I can tell you this, that there are things you don't know that your father has done and what made Jay act a certain way. Something that even made him get contacts to change his eye color since they're the same as yours. I don't want to be the person to blame later on in the future of what has been said and done. So again, I apologize."

He became quiet for a little. "So it's something bad? Something my father has done?"

... Crap.  

"Steven..."

"I trusted you, and you can't even tell me something highly important I needed to know?"

"Steven, if I tell you it will break you heart."

"So again, it is something bad?"

I paused. "Steven would you rather for me to not tell you, and just have you and Jay talk?"

"You didn't answer my question."

"YES Steven! But look I don't want to get in between any of this and then look stupid because it's none of my business and I don't want to be in the middle of it and loose my best friend over something I got involved in. So you can't get mad because I decided to help you with your personal problems! If anything, I don't care how much of a pussy you are! Jay is your brother! If you want to talk about something that concerns your family and he's apart of discuss it with him, don't bring anyone else like your friends and family into it sweetheart! It wouldn't even bring you together it'll tear you apart. Just ... please go talk to him, we'll go somewhere to meet tomorrow. I'll tell Jessica to come and I'll come to support you both and to support you both only! Not to take sides."

There was an awkward pause, I turned on my phone to make sure he hadn't hung up on me while I was lecturing him and he didn't.

"Alright. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Thank you, now I'm sorry but I'm like starving so I'll text you later. You go on back and learn your lesson."

"Trust me I did."

We hung up.

I just got out the shower with my Nike tights and sports bra on with a blue towel on my head starting to brush out my hair. I checked my phone and I saw that I had a text from Steven.

It read:

'You said he was my brother? Instead of my step brother...was that on purpose?'

I texted back: 'U'll find out.'
