I woke up alone in the bed, and as much as I hated to admit it, I kind of thought I'd find Miall next to me, but he wasn't. Another one-night stand, how exciting.
With a shrug, I got off the big bed and made my way downstairs after doing half of my hygiene morning routine. My first night in Nioz wasn't so bad, it was quite warm, to be honest, but it wasn't home.
Perhaps I could ask Miall to help me make my stay much more comfortable; after all, I was pregnant with a child. AHHH! HOW COULD I FALL PREGNANT? On my way to asking Miall millions of questions, I heard talking. I was not a wolf or anything superb, but I did have good hearing, and I knew what sounded like a woman giggling in the kitchen.
He sleeps with me and makes a woman laugh the next morning? What a smooth man.
I slowly walked into the kitchen and none of them acknowledged my presence as they talked to each other with stupid smiles plastered on their faces. All giggly and hearty eyes, I don't like that. Miall was shirtless and looked rested as he smiled warmly at her. He seemed so different. The woman had dark hair and a very athletic figure; either she worked hard for it, or that was how it was like for every woman here.
Just from her back, I could tell she was hot.
Walking closer to them, I listened in more on their conversation, and she said something about not seeing him in the pack house last night and how he probably was hungry, and I was betting they both noticed me or better yet smelled me—actually no—heard me since the moment I woke up and now were pretending as if I wasn't here.
I had never felt so invisible; even half of whatever they were could be extremely rude.
The woman moved forward to kiss Miall, and my ego could not take the over-friendly greeting. I moved forward and slapped Miall's cheek—a misdirection of my palm, honestly, but I had to move him away from the woman. He stared at me, shocked, as I looked at the friendly woman. Yeah, right; how could I ever slap an alpha?
"Morning," I greeted with a broad smile, and she looked down at me pissed. Welcome to the club, sis.
"Who is this, Miall?" She asked as she pointed to me and I pushed Miall, of course with his willingness, aside. I stood in front of him with my arms crossed over my chest as I looked up at the girl. My goodness, she is tall!
"I'm Amanah. Who are you?" Man, I'm so small but I will not back down!
"What is she doing here?" Miall, you dog! You didn't tell her? His eyes quickly glanced into mine and he nervously glanced back at the woman.
"What are you doing here?" She growled, and I scoffed, covering my mouth. "You're gonna have to do more than that if you want to scare me," I was provoked, and she bit as she lunged forward. Suddenly, I was no longer standing on my own two feet, and Miall was carrying me in his arm while one extended forward, stopping the woman. Damn.
"Why are you protecting her, Miall?"
"Yeah, why are you protecting me, Miall!?" I asked, and he somehow shook me even though I was in his arms and trying to scratch my way out. Man, I'm so turned on.
"Can you stop provoking everyone you meet?"
"Say pretty please," I muttered and he put me down, rolling his eyes. "I could take her, you know," I pulled my shirt down. He gave me a look, and I looked at her again, mumbling. "Everyone is weak in one spot."
"Miall," she breathed out and actually looked hurt. I looked at her from the corner of my eye. "Who is she?"
"The other woman," I said as I noticed the lunchboxes on the table. "You haven't told her?" I smacked my lips as I walked toward the table. "Is this safe to eat?" I asked as I opened the lid, they both looked at me as if I were disrupting their conversation. "What? I'm hungry," I shrugged as I sat down. "So, is it safe to eat?"
