Miall

"Don't scare the girl, Miall. Show her around her new home," my mother said, and Amanah still looked shocked at what she had heard. How did this happen?

"Wait, will I really be pregnant for six months only?" she pulled on the jacket that was around her shoulders.

"Well, for only five now, so your time is almost up," I crossed my arms over my chest, and my mom slapped my head. "What did you do that for!" I yelped, and she ground her teeth together.

"I said stop scaring the girl," she said in a low voice, glaring at me.

"Last I checked, I was the Alpha of this pack," I grumbled, rubbing my head; it didn't hurt, but it did sting. My mother raised her eyebrow at me and said,

"Alpha to who?" That scary face was replaced with a kind smile as she looked at Amanah. "We don't know for sure yet since this is the first time it's happened in our pack."

"Oh," she breathed, and a smirk grew on her face. "That would still be enough time for me either way," she said. "I've heard that pregnancy isn't so kind to people," she whispered to my mom, and they giggled together. What did that mean?

"Once you're settled in, I will tell you about my pregnancy with Miall. Let's hope yours will be better than mine," Mom held Amanah's hand, and I was surprised that my mother was already so warm toward Amanah.

"I just hope my child won't come out with that enormous head of his," she pointed to me, and Mom laughed. Haha.

"He got that from his father," they laughed together and I glared at the both of them. "Let's get you settled in first, dear, and I will tell you everything about Miall and this pack."

"Alright, Nyleve," she said as she hooked her arm with my mom's. They both smiled at each other as if they had been friends for a long time.

"Luna Acula," I corrected.

"Please repeat that in my good ear," she turned her face to the side with her hand on her ear. She slowly folded her fingers and raised her middle finger. "Oh? Nothing? I guess we can continue, Nyleve," she said, smiling sweetly at Mother. She infuriates me.

I grabbed her arm, and they looked at me, shocked. I smiled and slightly cocked my head to the side.

"I will show you around," my smile grew as Amanah stared back at me quietly, probably thinking of what she could say to get out of this. "You'll have much more fun with me," I said, and she squinted her eyes and nodded. She didn't trust me, just as much as I didn't trust her.

"Okay, so I will go prepare some stuff for you, Amanah," my mother said with a smile, leaving us together.

"Come on," I pulled her, and she stood still. Stubborn in every way! Sighing, I pulled again, and she finally moved with me.

"You know, I walk fine by myself," she pulled her arm from her hold.

"Make sure you keep up then," I let go of her arm, and she grumbled something under her breath. "Did you say something?"

"Aren't you supposed to hear what I say?" Her sassy tone was irritating. What exactly had happened that night?

"You seem to know an awful lot about us," I said as I opened the door for her. She looked at me, surprised, and I rolled my eyes. "I may not want you here, but I have manners." She scoffed as she walked past the door, not before abruptly stopping before me.

"I know only the basics. Do your bones hurt when you shift?" She asked, leaning closer to me, and I looked at her. Why did she have no shame, and why was she so comfortable around people she didn't know?
