"Why do you smell like another man?"
"Is that what you seriously came here for?" I asked him as I picked up the pillow and climbed onto the bed. Crap, and to think I was ready to drop my chemise for him.
"No, I came to see you, but I can smell him on you," he said, his teeth slowly inching out.
"Are you trying to scare me into answering you?" I crossed my arms over my chest. "And I bathed; how much of a wolf can you be?" I asked.
"I'm sorry, but I am not a wolf. I told you I am a Lycan, nothing like that weak excuse of a beast," he grumbled, and I laughed.
Orion was funny. During the time I spent with him on the first day, he wouldn't stop going on and on about how powerful he was and how lucky I should feel that he chose me.
Chose me to be miserable!
"So you admit they are beasts?" I giggled, and he looked at me with a shrug.
"Have you seen how ugly they are? That's why I refuse to ever take on that form," he said arrogantly yet proudly.
"I think they're cute, probably nice to hug," I shrugged as I wrapped my arms around my body.
"I refuse to take on that form because I don't like getting dirty. It is my most prized form," he raised his head, and I laughed, shaking my head.
"How can you be so arrogant yet so cute?" I asked him, and he huffed.
"I am neither of those things woman; I am powerful and mighty," he said and I nodded.
"Sure you are, but won't Miall get angry that you took over again?" I asked him and he grumbled under his breath.
"I don't care about that stupid excuse of an Alpha; he made you cry and made you cross the realm with another man; he is pathetic!"
"Hey, don't say that about him. It isn't cool," I said, smiling, and Orion looked away.
"What isn't cool is how he treats you. You aren't even in our home anymore, and you're so far away from us that I had to come all the way here just to see you. It's his fault that I took over today," he said, looking away. Oh, he was a gaslighter. "Hence why I left Willow in that house alone."
"You left who!?" I was shocked. He grumbled under his breath and sighed amusedly. For a century-old Lycan, he could act like a kid sometimes, and it was cute. "Won't he be mad with you?" I asked, and he rolled his eyes. "Don't roll your eyes at me," I said, flicking his ear and he huffed.
"You know, I'm much superior and older than you are," he said, and I looked at him from the side of my eye. "But I am not saying it matters in this situation," I raised my eyebrow, and he added. "Or ever."
"I thought so," I got comfortable in my bed, and he shifted closer to me.
"Amanah?" He called out my name softly; after a while of silence, I tilted my head to the side.
"Yes?" I looked into his gold eyes, and my breath hitched as I saw him slowly tilt his head to the side as if he were listening to something closely.
"May I please listen to our baby's heartbeat?" He asked sweetly and I almost cried, why was this so cute!
"Uhm, yes?" I answered nervously as I lay down on my back. His fingers lifted my dress, and my body trembled. Shoot, he was going to see me half-naked. I don't like how my heart beats against my chest.
He slowly moved toward my belly, his fingers gently pressed against my hips, and I held my breath as his breath fanned over my skin. Don't spread your legs, Amanah. Don't spread your legs!
