Miall

Amanah stared at me with her arms crossed over her chest. I looked at her from the side of my eye and copied her actions.

She had been staring at me since Malakhi left after his big entrance, which I thought was useless, but he had to barge in here and pretend to be concerned when we both knew he didn't really care about what happened.

Drystan was dead. Finally.

I pouted and sat down on my chair, and she tilted her head, clearly offended that I was choosing not to say anything about Drystan's death. Honestly, I was relieved that whoever killed him helped us immensely, but now I was stuck trying to find a murderer in my pack, so not good.

"So you're not going to say anything?" She finally huffed, and I looked up at her and shrugged while gathering my documents. "Spit it out," she scolded, and I raised my eyebrow.

"Spit what out?"

"Stop mumbling and talk! Why are you mad?"

"I'm not mad," I shook my head, and she pushed her face forward; I had to bite my lip to stop myself from laughing. Her eyes closed a bit, and she lifted the corner of her upper lip almost comically.

"You're obviously touched about something," she said as she stood up straight, placing her arms on her waist. "Is it because I let Malakhi touch my belly?"

I raised my hand and stood up, ready to express myself.

"It's exactly because of that! And you let him call our baby his baby when I'm the father, the only father there is to our baby. Also, I'm just saying if it so happens that our child has a mate, I would never allow it to be Malakhi, so he might as well stop calling my baby girl his baby because I don't like it," I huffed, and Amanah smirked crossing her arms over her chest once again.

"You finally got it off your chest, huh?" She asked amusedly. I pouted, turning my head away from her, and she giggled. "Okay, I'll tell him to stop calling your baby girl, baby," she said, and I turned my head. "And I won't allow him to rub my belly again, I promise," she crossed her fingers, and I unfolded my arms and looked at her.

"And you won't run for him anymore, no matter how much you miss him," I mumbled, and she stared at me for a second before nodding.

"Okay, not in front of you," she agreed, and I dropped my arms.

"What would you be doing with him without me there?"

"Mhh, I don't know, lunch, maybe?" She pulled her shirt and raised her head abruptly. "Stop distracting me!"

"From what? And what do you mean by lunch? You go out with Malakhi for lunch?"

"Yes, we go out for lunch sometimes. And tell me what happened to Drystan," she stood before me, and I worked hard to ignore how her knees were knocking on mine.

I placed my hands on her thighs, and she stared down at me and cocked her head to the side.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" She asked as she swatted my hands away from her thighs.

"Come closer; I'll whisper it in your ear," I grinned, and her frown deepened. "Okay, fine. I'll tell you, but please sit on my lap," I patted my lap, and she looked at it.

"And don't try anything else," she raised her finger, and I nodded, crossing my fingers.

She sat down hesitantly, and I wrapped my arms around her waist, buried my face in her neck, and pressed light kisses along her neck, chuckling as she tried to push me away while giggling.
