"Amanah! We're going to be late if you take longer!" Miall shouted from downstairs, and I groaned, fixing my hair.

"They're going there for us anyway. So how can we be late!" I shouted back as I exited the bathroom and made my way downstairs.

"Because they have other things to do, and there's a program," he spoke softly as he bobbed Kye around in his arms.

"Everyone wants to know the baby's gender; could they really do it with us? And besides, why would anyone accept an invitation if they don't plan on being there the whole day?"

I reasoned as I stood in front of him. "Don't you agree?" I asked, taking his silence as an agreement. I focused on Kye, dressed in a cute white milk dungaree. "Ooh, you look so handsome!" I squealed, pressing a kiss on his cheeks.

"Uh-hmm, do we need to go to this party? Can't they tell us later what the gender of the baby is? Better yet, we can find out when you give birth. Let's just stay here," Miall rushed out, and I stared up at him, confused.

"What?"

"You look gorgeous, and I don't want other people seeing you like this," he mumbled, and I laughed as I took Kye from him.

"Do you want me to go change?" I asked genuinely; if he wanted me to change into something else, I wouldn't mind.

"No," he pouted. "I just want to be the only one seeing you in this dress," he whined, pressing his head on my shoulder. "I can even see your boobies from this angle."

He stuck his hand into my dress and pulled it down.

"No one will stand beside me at that angle and stop it!" I swatted his hand away. "You're giving Kye ideas," I scolded, and Kye stared at Miall, amused.

Miall looked at Kye with his head still on my shoulder; he stood straight and fixed his shirt.

"You do look like his mother," he muttered. "His skin matches yours, and so do his features," he said softly, and I laughed, raising my eyebrow.

"Are you saying this because we're black?" I teased, and he shook his head.

"No, I just mean he does pass as your biological son. I guess the white hair is what distinguishes you two," he said, and I smiled softly as I turned to look at Kye, whose fingers were playing with the ends of my hair.

"Just so you know, I didn't have a child and hid him somewhere," I said, and Miall laughed, scratching his head.

"I guess I am trying to say that our child won't be born with the same skin colour as yours, so I'm hoping that won't hurt you, seeing how much you already love Kye. I want our child to experience that same kind of love from you," he whispered, playing with his fingers.

"Aww, Miall," I breathed out as I hugged him with my free arm. "Are you trying to ruin my makeup? Who made you so cute!"

I cried out as I pressed my face into his shirt. "I love you, and I am going to—no, I love our child just as much as I love Kye because you're their father."

Now, I knew what had been bothering him since Kye's arrival. He wasn't necessarily fond of him, but he tolerated him only because I asked him to stop being so icky around him. He thought Kye would take our child's place; how cute of him to be jealous for his own child.

"Goddess, don't I sound stupid?" He sighed, putting his hand on his face, and I laughed, pulling it down; I pressed a kiss on his palm and smiled brightly at him.

"No, thank you for coming to me with your concern. I know you're going to be the best father to our kid, which makes me so relieved," I said happily. "Now, button up the rest of your shirt. I don't want anyone who isn't me looking at your chest," I said, walking towards the door. "And hurry up. There's a reason why there is a schedule in place!"
