Amanah
Once I was sure Miall had left the house, I left that dry-ass room for his spacious one. I took a shower in his bathroom and graciously borrowed his shirt. Feeling clean and refreshed, I went to get something to eat from his kitchen.
This was a massive mistake because I had no idea what all this was. His freezer was mainly stocked with red meat, but I had no idea what animal that came from or what any item in this fridge came from.
Where's my guide when I need him?
I certainly didn't trust the milk because what fucking animal was this on the packaging? I opened up his cabinet drawers and found something I was sure was from Earth. He had all sorts of snacks that I wasn't very familiar with, but I still decided to eat them either way. I contemplated pouring a glass of water, but then again, the lake was purple. Perhaps that was the safest?
I climbed up the stairs with my arms filled with snacks, kicked open his bedroom door, well, my new bedroom door and skipped to his bed after kicking the door closed and dropped the snacks on his bed. He would be so mad, but I only found it fair for me to use his bed the same way he used mine.
I snuck in under the covers of the big bed and sighed happily; this was paradise at its finest! The bed was huge; his sheets were ash grey, my favourite colour, and so was his bedroom. I noticed he had something that looked like a transparent screen hanging in the air close to the wall.
That's new.
Out of curiosity, I got out of bed, munching on my milk chocolate cookie. I touched the screen, and a bright blue light blinded me. I moved away from the screen squinting my eyes as I adjusted my eyes to the light. I cocked my head to the side, seeing rows and rows of what seemed like shows. This was gold!
I touched the screen again as I looked for something to watch. I knew not even a single show, and it seemed as if they came from all over the galaxy because they were titled Planet Nioz, Planet Nior and so forth.
"A lot of planets in this place start with Ni. I wonder what that means," I whispered while scrolling past the alien shows. "There better be English subtitles in this bi—place," I mumbled.
I settled on a show that looked cool enough. After struggling for a while, I settled on just watching without the subtitles. I sat on the bed and watched the series in gibberish. Each episode was about forty minutes long, and I could only guess what they were saying through their expressions.
The show was about humans, like how on earth we have our ideas of what the supernatural world is like, they had their interpretation of what the natural world was like, but they also had access to it too, unlike us, well I hope we don't have access to it.
"I'm bored," I shoved a crunchy, weird-shaped snack in my mouth. "Doesn't taste bad."
After much laughter and, believe it or not, a few emotional moments, I slept through the episodes as I hugged the pillow. Maybe I should have stayed in my small bed, but this one was much more comfortable. I wonder when Miall will be back home. I want him to hold m—okay no. I was not that desperate!
Hours passed while I was sleeping, and an intense, hungry growl pulled me out of my sleep. I sat on the bed and looked around. It seemed like it was nighttime but it was still so bright outside, perhaps because of the two moons, which was so interesting to see them on two completely different phases.
"What if I am dead? And if I am, is Frankie grieving for me?" He had better be; I was his only closest friend!
One was half, while the other one was a quarter moon, but it was so beautiful. Even though Miall did try to explain a few terms to me and the environment, I still had so much to see and learn about this planet. I guess I could always ask Nyleve.
