CHAPTER-25 The Leader

              Rakol looked out over his balcony toward where they were, they were getting closer and that brought a smile to his pale face, the plan was almost complete and then the six nations would be his once and for all! All that was needed was for the twins to complete what he had sent them to do and for Kelly, his daughter to come and join him, she had refused once before, and he wouldn't let that happen again. This time they would rule together as a father and daughter should and all of the power would be his! That was what he wanted, and Kelly would have to choose between her friends or her family.

Cinder watched as Teloki slept next to her his arm around her keeping her warm, she almost laughed, she be the one keeping him warm, she was the one that had dragged him into this and there was no escape until one or the other of the groups was dead. Cinder stared at the fire, what would her love do when he saw Rakol, his master again would he turn against them like he had once had? Or would he stand by her side, they would have to wait and see what happened. Ash looked at Cinder from across the fire, she was his sister and he would do all in his power to protect her, even if it was again from the boy that she had fallen in love with who use to be their worst enemy. Now that Rakol was even closer they all started to doubt their faith in each other, Kelly looked at them and saw that when anyone glanced her way a flash of doubt came into their eyes about her. Yes, she was the daughter of their enemy, but she was not that person any more, that life was gone and there was only the here and now that mattered. Cinder walked ahead with Teloki next to her and she looked around her, they were going over a bridge that overlooked an inky black lake and trees that still has leaves but where dead to the world. Why did Rakol live here, the Shadowlands yes where his dominion but why had he chosen evil in the first place? That was the first thing that Cinder, and the others would ask him. But before she could ask that question, they had to find him, In this sea of death and decay around them. Where was Rakol? Cinder looked at Teloki and saw that he was glowing with a darkness that she had not noticed before. Why...What was going on, why was he glowing? Cinder looked at Nathan and then at Tayrah, they had stood alone while this whole thing had gone down and now, they were backing away further. "Taya, Nate? What are you doing?" she asked but they didn't answer her and just kept walking. What had gotten to them here? And then she noticed that Kalia was doubled over in pain and Cinder ran to her and knelt at her side, Cinder raised her head into her lap and saw that her eyes were pure black that of a Full shadow form... she was gone from them, Rakol was picking them off one by one, they had to confront him right away and get him to leave their land. Leave all of this behind. All of his death and suffering. Could they change his heart? Could they get him and Kelly to come with them? Kelly! Cinder thought and ran to the tent Kelly was in.
