CHAPTER 16- FALLEN

Cinder and the others looked at Teloki and wondered what they were going to do. They had to get Kelly back, but did she really want to come back, how much longer until she turned fully, had they really stopped him? Kelly was with them now and they had traveled away from him as soon as they could. But what about Kelly, she was weak from her encounter with Rakol, what if he was still out there? They had to keep their guard up at all times or they would all fall to him and that is not what her mother had in mind. Later that night they stopped and make camp, Ash put a border around them so that they would know if any of them came close so that they would be ready for whatever came their way and that was a promise. Cinder and Kelly put the tents up together while the others watched Kelly and made sure that he was not following them, Tayrah put up a light border as well so that they could come close but not too close or they would start to dim. Later that night they were all sitting around the fire that Cinder had made when Ash posed the question "what will we do when and if they surrender to help and they surrender to us? Is this all for nothing, or where we brought together for a reason and if so what was that reason?" they all looked at Cinder who looked at them "what?" "your mother said that something would come of this, you bringing us all together, what was that?" "I don't know I asked her but she never said specifically what it was, so no I don't know." Nate and Ash looked at each other, and then at the others, yes they knew that this meant a lot to Cinder but if they were not going to come then it was not worth dying over. Thy could all go home and then that would be the end of it once and for all. And then they could all go home and forget all about what had happened here. And this would be all over once and forever, all of this would be forgotten. Ember looked at her sister and smiled, she was just like she remembered, strong and fearless of what would come, but she was a great thinker she looked at Cinder and knew that they had to get away, but how Rakol was on them every second, Ember wanted to go with them but would she be able to renounce the order of the Black Dragon? Would Rakol allow that after Teloki went with her sister? She thought not so she looked at Cinder and frowned and then backed away and went to Rakol, he smiled and nodded at her. "this is where you belong, Ember... by my side as you conquer the world that never loved you." Nate and Ash looked at the girls and wondered what they would do? Rakol looked at Teloki and tried again "Apprentice, you are still bound to the black dragon...do as I command and kill the girl! And follow me!" Teloki looked at Cinder and the four stars, they had to fulfill their destiny and he would help them, even if he died in the process. Tayrah and Kelly looked on, Kelly was no longer the main focus so she could help in any way that she could, but Rakol still wanted her and he would have her sooner or later, they would fall and she would come back to him that was the plan that he had in place but would it work? Cinder looked at him and shook her head, he didn't know where he was going with this and that was a good thing because then they would be able to beat him on the battlefield and that was a good thing as well and then he would be gone and they wouldn't have to be worried about him or any of them again.

Suddenly Kalia came out of the shadows "Teloki, think again, are you sure that you want this?" she said to him and went and stood next to Ember and Rakol, who would he choose? Cinder looked towards the sky and saw that the sun was going down, they had to get out of there, the sun was the only thing keeping the rest of the shadow-hunters at bay and as soon as it went down they would be all over. And they couldn't stop them faster because the shadows made them even more powerful. What would they do? Cinder was about to yell something to the others but Kelly beat her to it. "Run!" she yelled and they ran away, was this the end? Was it all over for them?
