Ember had been Cinder's sister in the Fire Tribe, but once Cinder had gotten her powers, everyone had forgotten about the beautiful older sister, they only saw that she was in the way and she had no powers, but now that had changed.

She watched as Rakol crumpled to the ground and she smiled, now she could take over and no one would say a word, she was his lieutenant and she would be the most powerful person in this world.

Ember watched as they walked away and slowly, she walked to her master and knelt by his side. "M... Master?" she asked.

Rakol looked at her and sighed. "My stalwart...companion, you have to take my cloak, that is the only thing that will protect you from their powers." Ember shook her head, "No, I can't you have to live, I can't take up your role, you are our leader and as such you should be the one to kill them."

Rakol coughed and took her hand "You are the only one that can kill them, it is your destiny and as such you will lead my army to victory." Ember frowned "What about Kelly?" "She betrayed me, so it has to be you who takes up my mantle." He took his cloak off and placed it over her shoulders. "This is your destiny. Remember..." He took one more shattered breath and his hand went limp in hers and Ember watched his spirit going away.

Rakol, the leader of the Fallen was dead but the Shadows would rise again under a new leader and her name was Ember Shardglade.

Ember stood and wondered were Kelly had gone to, she would be the first that she killed, then her master's Enemy, the one called Cinder would be next then the others.

Ember held out her hand and a sword came to her, her master's sword, now hers. Slinking back to the shadows she wondered how she would find them again, after Rakol had died they had moved on quickly and she hadn't been able to track were they had gone.

Hissing softly, she transformed into a large dark dragon and took to the sky, she would find them, no matter what the others thought, she was NOT weak, and she would defend her kind, blood would flow, and Ember would find them one way or another, she would watch them bow before her and the Shadows.

Ember flew over the land and watched for them, their auras were different than the others, they were... colorful.

Watching the sky, she wondered if she would be able to track them if it was dark.

Suddenly she was attracted to a bright light and slowly she landed scanning her surroundings she found that she could track Cinder by her heat, and she smiled. As she transformed, she turned in the direction that Cinder was and started walking, if she kept going, and Cinder didn't move, then she would find her and the others in a matter of hours.

Suddenly she ducked behind a tree, they where right in front of her and she smiled, they didn't know, and Cinder would be her first target. Slowly she looked out from behind the tree and found the tent that she needed, the flap was open and slowly she reached into her coat, well was her masters and gripped the dagger that was inside and slipped it from the sheath, walking forward, gathering the shadows as she went to keep herself hidden and she kept going until she had reached the door. Voices whispered from inside and Ember stopped to listen. "Cinder.... I know that she is here..." "Teloki, I know, since Rakol died, I have been able to see and hear the shadows more and more. Sometimes they block out the other voice. But I doubt that Ember would be able to find us after all we went a different was, just so that she wouldn't be able to do that." Ember smiled, they had no idea that she was just outside and so she snuck back to the tree and waited and watched until Cinder pulled back the flap and stepped outside. Cinder turned back towards Teloki "Did you hear something?" he asked. Cinder shook her head "I thought that I felt her." Cinder turned and looked at Embers tree and Ember pulled her cloak closer to her face, forcing herself to merge with the shadows around her.

"Stupid Cull." She whispered under her breath and silently watched what they where doing she had to get close enough to capture Cinder, once she was gone then she could get out of there.

Ember watched as Teloki came out and stood by Cinder. "What is it?" he asked. Cinder shook her head. "Nothing.... I just thought that I saw something, but I was wrong."

Ember looked at Cinder and found that she was looking right at her. Did she know that she was there? Ember watched as Teloki went back into the tent and she waited for Cinder to turn around so that Ember could find a different place to hide and wait until dark, but Cinder didn't move. Instead she went and walked to a nearby tree stump and sat on it. Ember hissed and wondered if she really wanted herself killed and waited a minute before sneaking through the forest to the side of her, she would come from the side and get her and then no one would hear her scream.

As she neared her, she felt that Cinder was sitting very still, and she felt the heat radiating from her and hitting her skin. "I know that you are there... you don't have to worry, we are alone, it has been too long sis." Ember froze midstride and looked at her.

"H...how do you know that it is me?" Ember whispered, so that the others couldn't hear them. Cinder shook her head "We are sisters, I will always know when you are close." Ember stepped away from the shadows and blinked in the sunlight. Cinder smiled at her, but she didn't return the smile. "I guess you know why I am here then?" Ember asked. Cinder nodded and stood holding out her hand to her. "First, I want to show you something, then we can talk more about what you are going to do to me." Cinder said. Ember hissed and wondered what she had in mind, this was not what she was trained for, if she failed Kii and Liethra would find a way to kill her.

Huffing she nodded and Cinder turned and started walking into the forest away from the camp, Ember noticed that they were going north, and she wondered why she was going so far.

Cinder stopped and turned to face her. "Ember, I know that I couldn't get you alone, Rakol is too close to home for me and he would have watched us there, but he is dead, you can walk away from this once and for all." She whispered. Ember pressed her lips together and wondered what she was doing. Cinder pointed to six statues, weathered and worn from the centuries that they had stood in the courtyard of the had been town. "These are the first, the first to gain the knowledge of the languages....' Cinder placed her hand on one of them and sighed. 'Ember, we can be much more then we have planned, you don't have to do this, no one is making you... you could choose to walk away." Ember looked at her and then folded her arms and glared. "Just because we are not seeing eye to eye doesn't mean that I came here to be lectured by my enemy." Ember spat the last word and Cinder shook her head "Before I was your enemy, I was your sister. And I want to be that again." Cinder whispered. Ember looked at her and shook her head "That will never happen, now are you coming, or not?"

Cinder shook her head "No. Ember you know that this is not right, just come with me and we can do this, what would mom do if she saw us this way?" Cinder pleaded with her. Ember hissed and shook her head "DON'T! SHE LEFT...NEVER THOUGHT OF ME AGAIN.!" Ember yelled and drew her sword, "If you will not join me then you leave me no choice." Rain started to come down.
