We fell for what seemed like forever. The scream that had threatened to come out of me was stuck in my throat in surprised terror as I watched us make our quick descent. Unlike me though, Ezic was calm.

As the building next to the skyscraper drastically drew closer I began to realize what his plans were. My suspensions were confirmed when Ezic braced me in one of his arms and prepared for impact. Almost as if he had planned it, we landed on top of the building with brutal force. However, whatever Ezic wore on his feet seemed to take the brunt of the impact. Once both feet were firmly planted and our descent halted, Ezic began to run across the rooftop.

It was exhilarating. Especially after being cooped up for so long, the adrenalin was welcomed.

Hollers came from behind us and when I looked over Ezic's shoulder, I saw soldiers pursuing us. However, the height at which we fell was barely survivable, and very few withstood the fall unscathed. When some lept onto the roof of the building, the impact caused legs to break. The sound of their shrill screams chilled me. Yet, there were still those stupid enough to come after us.

"Ezic!" I warned

"I know!" He muttered and sped up. I held on for dear life as we neared the ledge of the building. Ezic didn't slow as the edge appeared. Instead, he gained speed.

I felt my heart skip a beat when I saw one of the soldiers behind us raise his blaster and point it in our direction. My mouth went dry and before I could utter a word the blaster went off.

Colors flooded my vision as the projectile from the weapon exploded around us. I felt myself slip from Ezic's grip and catapult across the roof.

I rolled across the roof and to my utter horror, realized that I couldn't stop my momentum as I quickly neared the edge. A scream escaped my throat as I plummeted over the ledge and down toward the streets below.

Just as I disappeared over the edge of the building, I saw a flash of white reach out to me and viciously grip my arms. My heart thrummed in my ears as I stared up at Ezic who was nearly pulled over the edge himself. His red eyes were wide as he stared down at me.

"Do you trust me!?" He asked suddenly and I gaped up at him in surprise.

"Y–yes!" I quickly stuttered. In the next instant, I watched as whatever device he had implemented onto his hand's molded onto me and envelope my own.

"Whatever you do, don't let go." Ezic stated and before I could respond he latched both of my hands against the building and I felt the device's suction to it. He let go of my arms before pulling himself back up over the ledge of the building and disappearing. A commotion could be heard above me but I refused to move even an inch for fear that if I did I would begin to fall.

The sound of groans and fists hitting flesh was audible and lasted only a couple of seconds before silence surrounded me. After a few moments passed and still no sign of Ezic, I started to fear the worst had happened and he had been apprehended.
