The Surprise

With all the mid term exams complete, the girls look forward to Open Day and get to see their parents and families. The girls were all ready to see their parents and families. They were all ready for the day. They all stood in front of their trunks except Tori who sat on her trunk as she was told to do by Matron.

Matron returned with their grade envelopes. She asked the girls to step forward if their parents were attending Open day. Matron told Tori to stay seated. She knew her parents were coming. All the girls except Alicia, Sally and Marylou stepped forward. She then handed out the envelopes. Sally, Marylou and Alicia didn't get an envelope because their parents or family weren't coming. Matron then left.

The girls were alone in the dorm getting ready to see their parents. Tori asked Sally if she wanted to join her and her family for the day. Sally thought it would be lovely. Darrel then asked Marylou. She was so glad that Darrel asked her. Darrel told Marylou that they would be also joining Tori's family and Sally as Sally was invited by Tori. Alicia told Darrel another friend invited her to be with her family. Darrel understood. The girls then left the dorm.

The girls were outside waiting for there parents to arrive. Sally was holding on to Tori's hand to make sure she was stable. Tori didn't want to use her wheelchair at all that day. She felt embarrassed using it in front of everyone.

The parents were arriving and the first to pull up was Darrel's parents. Her dad got out of the car first then helped her mother. Darrel then went over to them. She hugged them. Her dad told her that they had a surprise for her. Her younger sister Felicity got out of the car. Darrel hugged her younger sister. She asked why she was there. Her dad told her that he had a conference at the hotel in the village and they wanted to make it a fun trip. Darrel then introduced her parents younger sister to Marylou. They were glad to meet Marylou.

Just then Dr. Rivers then noticed Tori and Sally. Darrel noticed that her dad wanted Tori in her wheelchair by the disappointed look he had on his face. This made Tori nervous. She was about to speak then a car pulled up. A brown haired man with grey eyes wearing glasses, a blue suit with white dress shirt and a white fedora got out of the car and opened the car door. A women got out of the car. She had strawberry blond hair, blue eyes and she was wearing a pale blue dress and white fascinator. They walked over to Tori.

When they got to Tori, she hugged her parents. She told them that she missed them. Her dad then told her that they had a surprise for her. Her dad walked over to the car and opened the door. A curly strawberry blond hair blue eyed girl got out of the car wearing a purple dress & mary janes. It was Tori's younger sister Allissa. She told Tori there was an even bigger surprise. A strawberry blond haired young man with grey eyes wearing a navy blue Royal Air Force uniform got out of the car. It was Tori's older brother Will. Tori was shocked to see both her siblings she began to cry.

Sally noticed and comforted her, so did Darrel and Marylou. Dr. Moore and Dr. Rivers noticed that Tori was unsteady on her feet. They walked over to her and the girls.

When they got to Tori, Dr. Moore lifted Tori into his arms. He then wiped her tears. He noticed she was calm now. The other girls didn't question what occurred. Dr. Moore asked Tori to introduce her friends. Tori told him about Sally first then Darrel and Marylou. They then made their way to the field with the other families.

They found a place to sit and talk. Dr. Moore helped Tori sit in a chair. The group talked. Darrel told her parents and sister that she would be participating in the 100 yard dash. Dr. Rivers then suggested they go to the beach for their picnic. They thought it was a good idea. Dr. Rivers told Dr. Moore that he wanted Tori to be carried. He told Dr. Rivers that he felt that too.. Everyone stood from the table Darrel helped her mother. Dr. Moore lifted Tori from the chair into his arms. Mrs. Moore and Will had the picnic baskets from the Rivers' and Moore's the group headed to the beach for lunch.
