Tori's Setback

It's been a few days since Tori's emergency shunt operation. She was well enough to be moved back to the orthopedic ward. Her belongs were packed up. She was placed in a wheelchair. She had her comforts on her lap. A nurse walked in the room on the neurosurgery ward. She told Tori that she would be taking her back to the orthopedic ward. The nurse took the wheelchair and left with Tori. Dr. Moore had Tori's belongings and followed behind.

Once they arrived on the orthopedic ward, she was taken to the room she was previously in. it was room O99. She saw the bed was freshly made. Tori had a bath that morning, so she didn't have to have another one. She was glad that she could just be put in the bed. She still felt exhausted from the emergency operation days ago.

Once in bed, Dr. Moore put her clean blanket on the bed. He had it cleaned while she was getting bathed by the nurses. He told her that she will still have round the clock care. He told her that he was still concerned about her neurologically. He told her she was moved to the orthopedic ward because Dr. Rivers requested it. She understood.

A few hours later, Dr. Rivers arrived. He wore his teal surgical garment including his mask. He went over to the sink to wash his hands. He then walked over to Tori's bed.

When Tori saw Dr. Rivers approach her, she hid her face under the blankets. She cuddled her doctor bear and Bark under the blankets. She didn't like that Dr. Rivers was wearing his surgical garment around her still.

Suddenly she felt a sharp burning sensation on her groin. She just went to the bathroom in her diaper and it touched her rash which was still prominent. She figured Dr. Rivers was there to change her diaper and examine her rash. She also figured that he was also going to talk to her about her operations too.

When Dr. Rivers went to Tori's bed, he saw she was hiding. He went up to her bed and sat down on the chair beside the bed. He then placed his hand onto Tori. He told her that he was wearing his surgical garment as she was still at risk of infection. He told her that it was because she was only days out of having her emergency shunt operation. He told her that it was to help protect her, so she didn't get sick before her feet and leg operations. She stayed silent.

All of a sudden, she felt pain in her groin again. She couldn't hide it. Dr. Rivers noticed. He asked her if she had soiled her diaper. She told him that she did in a quiet voice. She knew it was important to tell him, but she was still embarrassed about it. She was 11 years old and wearing a diaper. He then told her that he wanted to take her to the surgical examination room to remove her diaper and thoroughly examine her groin. He asked her if she was okay with that. She told him that she was. He told her that he would have a nurse take her down in a wheelchair. He then told her she could have comforts with her. He also told her that her dad would be there too. He then stood from the chair and left the room.

Moments later, a nurse wearing a surgical garment arrived with a wheelchair. She also wore a surgical mask. She went straight to Tori's bed.

When Tori saw her, she was scared. The nurse parked the wheelchair at the bed. She helped Tori from her bed into the wheelchair. Dr. Moore grabbed Bark and Tori's doctor bear. He gave them to her. He then told her that he would see her in the surgical examination room. She was glad, but concerned that something was wrong with her neurologically after her shunt operation. The nurse left with Tori.

When they arrived on the surgical ward, another nurse was waiting for them. She wore a full surgical garment including gloves. She took Tori's wheelchair from the first nurse. She wheeled Tori into the surgical examination room.

Once in the surgical examination room, Tori saw the metal surgical table. She saw the carts of supplies. Tori also saw a second nurse getting things ready. The nurse wheeled her towards the metal surgical table. She then parked the wheelchair. She then lifted Tori from the wheelchair onto the metal surgical table.
