Malory Towers Break Barriers

The Surprise Visit

Back at the hospital, Dr. Moore was on the Veterans' ward outside Will's room. He wanted to surprise him. He was concerned that he going to startle Will as he had his full surgical garment on. He then slowly opened the door.

When he opened the door, he noticed Will was sitting on his comfy hair near the window. He could see Will holding the doll that Tori's friends made for him. Will didn't notice that the door was open. He quietly closed the door. He then walked over to Will.

When Dr. Moore went to Will, he put his hand on Will's shoulder. Will then felt the hand on him and turned his head to see who it was. He saw it was his dad.

When he saw it was his dad, he was concerned. He thought that the nurses told his dad that he was becoming unsteady on his feet. Another thing that he noticed was that his dad wore his surgical garment. That meant that either Tori was in hospital again in his care or he was going to examine him.

Dr. Moore saw the look on Will's face. He told him that it wasn't anything to do with him. He told him that indeed Tori was in the hospital again. He told Will that Tori's right shunt failed and he fixed it in the San at Malory Towers. He told him that Tori really didn't improve like he thought she would even though the shunt was functioning. He told Will that Tori's intracranial pressure was at an unsafe level and was monitoring it. He told will that it was slowly improving and she was allowed visitors. He told Will that he was going to bring him and uncle James to the neurosurgery ward to visit Tori. He then asked his dad if Tori knew that it was happening. Dr. Moore told him that she didn't. He was glad that he would be able to surprise his sister. He knew that it would brighten her day. They then left to speak with uncle James.

Once they got to uncle James' room, Dr. Moore opened the door and he and Will walked in. They saw uncle James sitting in his chair reading a book. He didn't know they were there. Will walked up to his uncle with his doll in his hand. Will carried that doll everywhere as it helped him cope. Dr. Moore followed behind.

When uncle James saw Will, he put his book down. He stood from the chair and hugged Will. He then noticed Dr. Moore wearing his surgical garment. He knew that Tori was back in hospital. He felt sad that she was. Will then spoke up. He told uncle James that he was allowed to visit Tori. He then smiled. He then went with them to the neurosurgery ward.

When they arrived at the neurosurgery ward, Will had his doll with him. He told Will and James that they had to wear masks and gloves. They washed their hands. Nurses assisted them putting their masks and gloves on. Dr. Moore even had clean gloves on. A nurse accompanied them. They then headed to Tori's room.

Moments later, Dr. Rivers arrived at the hospital with Darrel. Darrel was still nervous about being at the hospital. She was so happy that she would be able to see Tori. She felt a weight lift off her. The guilt she felt that she was healthy and Tori wasn't disappeared. She knew that she couldn't control what happened with Tori, but she knew she could control her own destiny. They headed up to the neurosurgery ward to surprise Tori.

When Dr. Rivers arrived with Darrel on the neurosurgery ward, they went to the nurses' station. The nurses told them that Dr. Moore wanted Darrel to wear a mask and gloves. She understood. One of the nurses then showed Dr. Rivers a clean surgical gown, cap and mask. She told him that she would assist him. Darrel was asked to wash her hands which she did. One of the nurses then helped her put on a mask and gloves. The other nurse assisted Dr. Rivers. She tied up his surgical gown, cap and mask. He then headed to the sink to wash his hands. The nurse then helped him put his gloves on.

Once Dr. Rivers and Darrel were ready, they could go see Tori. A nurse went with them to open the door for them. They headed to Tori's room.

Outside Tori's room, Dr. Moore was with Will and uncle James and one of the nurses. The nurse was about to open the door to Tori's room. They then saw Dr. Rivers and Darrel walking towards them with another nurse. Dr. Moore told Dr. Rivers that Tori will definitely be surprised.
