The next day, Darrel, Sally and the other girls were in domestic science. Ms. Pots was teaching them how to sew and mend clothes.

While they sewed, they talked. Darrel and Sally told the girls that they visited Tori in the San. They asked how Tori was. They told them that Tori was on the mend, but unsure when she would return to the dorm. Darrel also told them that she wanted to make a get well present for Tori as well. Ms. Pots thought it was a good idea. She asked Darrel what her idea was.

It was time for Darrel to share what her get well gift idea was. Darrel told everyone her idea. She told them that she wanted to make a plush doll for Tori with clothes. She told everyone that she thought it would help Tori cope with her anxiety. Ms. Pots thought it was a lovely idea. She told Darrel that she would gather all the materials and supplies for the project and they could start on it the next class.

Ms. Pots then asked Darrel what type of clothes she wanted to make for Tori's doll. Darrel told Mrs. Pots that she wanted the doll to have a school uniform, a surgeon's garments and maybe a nurse's uniform too. The other thing Ms. Pots asked was that of Darrel wanted the doll to look like Tori. Darrel said yes that was her idea. Ms. Pots asked Darrel if she wanted the doll to have Tori's braces. Darrel told her yes. Ms. Pots told Darrel that she would see what she could do about how to make them.

Darrel thanked Ms. Pots for approving the idea. Ms. Pots told Darrel that she thought the project would help assess their sewing skills. The girls told Ms. Pots that it made sense because she needed to mark their skills. Domestic science ended for the day.

After class, Ms. Pots went through the fabric and picked out the ones the girls would make the doll from. She then picked out the fabric that the doll's clothes would be made from as well. She got the yarn and found the left over buttons they would use for the doll's eyes ready. Everything for the doll project was all ready.

The next morning, Ms. Pots woke the girls up. She told the girls to be ready to start on Tori's gift that morning. The girls had French first that morning. They got ready for the day then headed to breakfast.

After french class, they headed to domestic science. They were looking forward to making Tori the doll to make her feel better. They cared so much about Tori. They really wanted to put a smile on her face.

Once at domestic science, the girls saw the fabric on the table. They saw the doll pattern on the table. They sat down around the table waiting for Ms. Pots instructions.

It was time to work on Tori's doll. Ms. Pots told the girls that they were responsible for one part of the doll. Darrel had the head. Alicia had the arms. Sally the body and Marylou the legs. The girls were then given the fabric and the pattern to each part they were making.

The girls were quietly concentrating on making their part of of Tori's doll. They wanted to make sure they made it right. It was a special gift from them. They tried their best. Ms. Pots assisted them when they needed it. She knew it was a gift for Tori and didn't mind helping them.

Once all the parts of the doll were complete, The other girls started sewing the limbs to the body. Darrel was doing the dolls hair then worked on the face. Darrel carefully sewed a nose and mouth. She then found the biggest beautiful grey buttons for the dolls eyes. She then carefully sewed the buttons on.

When the head was complete, Darrel could sew it on the body. She carefully sewed the doll's head onto the body. Ms. Pots told the girls that she was very pleased with what they accomplished during the class. She told them that she would evaluate their work and them grade it. Then she would clean it up if necessary, so Tori could enjoy it. Class was now over.
