Ch. 13 Barriers Broken

Hello everyone! I hope you are enjoying this story so far! This next chapter is where everything starts getting confusing and mind bending so I sorry if you get overly confused or be like "WTF!!!!". Anyway let's begin!

Chapter 13: Barriers Broken

Naomi's POV

It's Thursday after school and Zach and I are out on the track field waiting for Kano to get back with some water and snacks out of the vending machine.

"So Nao, do you wanna try running again today?" Zach said with enthusiasm.

"Uh. Sure we can do that." I said with less enthusiasm.

"Great let's start!" Zach said as he hooked arms with me in my right side and started to speed walk.

"Woah!" I said as my balance went wack.

"He just laughed and supported me. He began to pick up pace as I got comfortable with each level of speed. Now, at running speed my feet are not responding and he is practically dragging me along. Finally my legs give out and I go down bring Zach with me.

"Sorry" I say as I struggle to get myself up.

"It's ok. You will get it eventually!" He says as he gets up and brushes himself off and then helps me up.

"Hey guys! I got the food and drinks!" Kano says and he lifts some of the items in the air. He hands out the water and food to each of us and we sit and enjoy the refreshments.

"Hey boys! Oh hey Naomi!" Says a familiar voice. I look to see who it is and it's no other than Gretchen and Samantha.

"Can we join you?" Gretchen says as she finds herself a seat next to Zach. Samantha does the same but finds heralded a seat next to Kano. They also both pick a seat next to me blocking me off from them.

Why do they have to do this. I don't understand them at all. I hate this. When ever I get time alone with both of them for just a second these two have to come along and join in. I want to spend time with just them. Ugh... But I don't want to be mean.
I guess I will just deal with it.

Kano all of a sudden gets up and walks towards me. He lifts me up by the arms and he starts to pull me away from everyone.

"W-what's the matter?!" I say still stuck in a state of confusion.

"Nothing I just need to get away from those girls..." He says as he looks straight ahead.

"Buddy where are you going?" I hear Zach yell as he runs up behind us and behind Zach is Gretchen and Samantha yelling "wait up!".

Kano stops and looks at me and then at Zach. Zach stops and stares at Kano for a minute and then looks at me and nods. I just look back and forth between them as this goes on. By this time the girls have caught up to us. Zach told the girls he has to go to the bathroom and that he will be right back. Zach leaves and walks back toward the school he picks up our bags and gives a thumbs up to Kano.

Ah, an escape plan. I get it. But wait how are-

My thought is interrupted by Kano speaking "sorry ladies but I'm afraid that in have to get going I need to take Naomi home, right Naomi?" Kano says as he looks down at me winking.

"Oh okay" Gretchen says.

"We are coming along! I want to see where Naomi lives!" Samantha interjected.

"Ha ha sorry but that won't be possible" Kano says in a really weird tone that made me weary of the situation.

"But-" Samantha started to say but was interrupted but Kano saying "see ya!"
