Ch. 47 Second chance?

Naomi's POV

It's cold. Really cold. I can't get warm and I have no sense of direction at all.. just wandering about, then a rush of warmth... and then nothing. No pain. No weight... nothing.

I'm leaving behind what I loved. Drifting in the clouds above the city lights, there's the park, and there is my school. There is the hospital and there is my old apartment. I wish it didn't have to be like this... but I have nothing left, my dad hates me probably, my boyfriend cheated on me... there isn't anything for me to go back to.. nothin-

Huh?..... a familiar touch.. I can't pin point it but... who is it? Who are you? A calm gentle voice. Mom?

I try to stir, and then a bright light in my eyes and all my worries lifted like there were never there. No pain, no anything. Just ... me.

2 weeks later

Well... that was an experience, I wonder where Kano is... I miss him. I am now in a new home. I live with my mother who I never thought cared about me only to find out she had been working her tail bone off just to get me back. I love living here with her. I'm supposed to go back to school today... luckily I was recovering quickly. I have to get back.. I want to see Kano and Zach.. I want to hug Kano.

Just thinking about him gives me butterflies in my stomach.

I'm already up and dressed. Ready to go. "Mom! I'm ready to go to school!" I said as I came down the hallway into the kitchen. I still had a bandage around my head but besides that I was good.

"Alright sweetheart, let's get going we can stop for some breakfast on the way if you'd like?" She said to me with a warm smile.

"Okay mom." I said as I looked at her. "Let's get going then~" I said as I started walking out.

My mother followed suit and we both got into the car and left. We stopped a dunkins and got some coffee and a Donut each.

I was a bit late to school. I'm so excited but also nervous as I'm never late. "Bye mom!" I said as I hopped out of the car.

"Call if you need anything baby" she yelled to me.

Oh geez I can't already feel my red cheeks. I kept walking and soon found myself in the school everyone had already gone to class, I had to go as well, I quickly made me way up the stairs, and then I caught a glimpse of two familiar heads. I run up the stairs and stand behind them in the stair well as they are walkin up. "Oi! Kano! Zach!" I said a bit quirky.

They both turn around and jaws dropped. Kano leaped off the stairs toward me and pulled me into a hug swinging me around. Zach came down the stairs and then hugged me from the other side.

"Naomi~" Kano hummed.

"Nao~" Zach hummed.

"Guys I'm Totally ya don't need to be this extremely~" I chuckled.

"Oh! Before I forget, Kano." I said turning to him being serious.

Kano pulled away and gulped a look of wary rushed his expressions. "Y yes?" He asked.

Zach simply crossed his arms.

"As my boyfriend I need to introduce you To my mom and new step dad! Do you wanna come over sometime this week?" I asked smiling at him. Please say yes. Please.

Kano looked utterly shocked and so did Zach. "Uh... did I miss something.." I muttered looking back at forth between the two.

"Uh... n no! Ya didn't babe~" Kano said as he grabbed my hand. "And I would love to~" he said as he leaned in and kissed my cheek.

I blushed and looked back at Zach. Who was walking up the stairs already.

"Zach?" I called to him.

He didn't respond and just kept walking. I wonder what's wrong?

The rest of the day goes by fairly quickly.. but Zach is not the same.

Zach's POV

What the actually fuck... she doesn't remember anything... I can't do this... I feel the hard ground hit my feet and the sweat drip down my face.  Here comes the hurdle.

A quick moment of weightlessness before I land back in the ground running. Another one. Landed. Last one! Landed.

I stop and pant to myself on the field. I'm the first one out.. I look up to see coach.

"You have a broken arm Zachary! You can't be doing this!" He yelled at me.

"Coach.. this is the only way I can keep myself from going crazy..." I said looking at him panting still.

Coach looked at me and silenced filled the air. He knew from the look in my eyes and just simply nodded. "Alright... no hurdles but you can run." He said to me.

"Thanks coach." I said as I run away from him going back to the track.

Naomi deserves batter than this, she deserves me! Not that asshole! Foot step after foot step my anger just simmers down, my stress melting away.

I stay to my self for the rest of practice, for the first time... I didn't say hi to Naomi during practice. On the way home it hits me like a truck.

How the hell am I gonna get her to go out with me if I don't even say hi to her!!! Ahghhhhh!!!

"Zach are you alright?" My mother asked me.

"I'm fine." I said as I kept looking out the window.

The car ride was silent all the way home.

Naomi forgot what happened? She is still head over heels with Kano. Zach is so pissed distraught and upset he ignores Naomi.
