3rd desire [want] (2022)

3RD DESIRE [WANT] is the third full album from cube entertainment female soloist, ryun, released on december 1, 2022. it includes fourteen tracks in total including the title want and two pre-released singles. the first pre-release, press your number was released on october 3, 2022. the second pre-release, thirsty was released on november 5, 2022.

want is the final part in the 'desires' series. it is also her first album where she is credited on every song. upon its release longtime fans were very pleased to see the darker, more mature side of ryun. many of the songs, while not explicit had obvious tones of sex and sexuality. this brought mild criticism from domestic and few international audiences but she was praised critically. the pre-released singles charted high on the gaon digital chart debuting each at #1 and with 2/3 becoming the best performing singles of their month. she became the first female soloist to achieve a million certification with the want album. the album also became her most awarded album with notable awards: artist of the year at the gaon chart music awards, the soloist artist award at the genie music awards, song of the year (digital daesong), and a digital bonsang at the golden disc awards. she won the best female artist award and best dance performance - solo at the 2023 mnet asian music awards. she would be gifted the national title of the "nation's diamond soloist" following her string of success and high domestic praise.
