"jihoon. jihoon-ah! hey lee jihoon!" their second eldest yelled above the rest of the members and staff to get his attention.
said man startled and quickly whipped around to face his hyung. behind him jeonghan stood with arms crossed while a laughing hoshi braced against him to avoid falling, and seungcheol looked mildly amused.
"i told you hyung," hoshi gasped between loud cackles of laughter, "he's got a crush on her! look at his face!" an even louder round of laughter came from the man as woozi's face twisted into something like a kid caught with their hand in the cookie jar.
he tried to fake an angry tone and glare at hoshi but his red face betrayed him, "i don't have a crush on her!" he scowled when seungcheol rose a disbelieving eyebrow, silently telling him that nobody was buying what he was selling.
woozi immediately doubled down to the hyung he knew would show him some sympathy, "i don't! hyung!" he nearly whined. "i don't have a crush! i'm just a fan."
"being a fan and having a crush aren't mutually exclusive oji-ah." hoshi pointed out, "just admit to hyungs that you have a crush! tell them what you told me." that got the eldest members' attentions, who looked toward their member in question.
"i didn't tell you anything!" he snarled, "stop lying and go away!"
"when i asked if you had a crush on her you said "yes i do-of fuck off", then you ran away blushing." hoshi struggled to not dissolve into another fit of laughter, he stifled his growing difficulty in jeonghan's shoulder.
"you tricked me into saying that!"
"no i didn't!"
"yes you did!"
"no–"
"okay that's enough," seungcheol decided to step in before the pair began fighting. "soonyoungie go see find manger-nun when we go on stage." with shaking shoulders from laughing, hoshi nodded and walked away.
next he turned his attention to a still agitated woozi, "now, mind telling us what all this is about?"
the younger member sighed, "i don't have a crush on her hyung, i'm just a fan." he explained again for what felt like the thousandth time. seungcheol waved him off passively, merely agreeing with the male to calm him down rather than out of believing his words.
"okay, so who is this 'her' and why are you so defensive about her?" jeonghan asked. so many groups debuted in each year it was nearly impossible to keep up with all of them. if they weren't under the same company or somebody he personally knew then it was unlikely he even cared enough to find out about them.
"her name is ryun. she debuted this year, she was the one who won her first music show win eight days after her debut." the second eldest made a sound of recognition. they'd all heard about the rookie soloist who's debut earned her one of the fastest music show wins in the industry's history. it'd been a sore subject for the long haired man if he were honest. he envied her fast success, his own group's debut had been received well but that didn't get them a win.
