described as a somber ballad that sees the narrator singing to the person they loved the most about the christmas season without them. this person isn't named, instead it is meant for the listener to apply their own personal experience to the somg.
ryun dedicated the track to ten years without her mother, as christmas 2024 marks the tenth year she has spent without her beloved mother since her death in 2014. an alternative title for the track was decided upon to convey the sadness and melancholic atmosphere of the holiday without the person who had once brought such joy and life to it. she was hesitant to release the track at first, mainly due to how it might affect her father and brother, but she received their blessings. a decision to upload the album music video to youtube and no other music platform or release physical copies was made because she didn't want to profit from the release. instead she announced that any profits generated from the music video would be donated, and that she would be doubling any proceeds with her own money. she would donate to several charities that her mother supported in her lifetime including those that aid domestic violence victims, gynecologic cancer patients, and pregnant women in crisis. she would reportedly donate over 500 million won (~$357,000 usd) in the name of her mother.
