her first dating scandal was in 2016 just a few months after debut, when she was caught by dispatch who tweeted:

as soon as the tweet was published there was an overwhelming amount of criticism sent toward both newly debuted idols within minutes. it was so extensive and damaging that both companies had to release multiple statements over the course of a week, the hate only died down when ryun released her own statement clearing up the rumors in a tweet that read:
