Talking Kat's Birthday with the Guys

Ross' P.O.V.

I was sitting in my hotel room with my brothers and Ratliff, thinking about Kat's birthday. What could I do to show her I'm worth it?

"Hey guys, did you know it's Kat's birthday the week after we leave?" I asked them.
"What really?" Rocky asked me. They all looked shocked.
"Why did she only tell you, why didn't she tell us?" Riker questioned.
"She didn't tell me, I overheard her talking to her Mom on the phone this morning."
"Ok then. Why didn't she tell us at all? We've spent the money and effort to bring her with us to Sydney, and she doesn't even have the guts to tell us this. Do you guys think she just used us to get a free vacation with R5?" Rocky shocked everyone with that remark.

"I don't think so. I think she's just nervous and shy. She's met these new and famous people who have become her friends and she doesn't want to push her luck," Ryland spoke up from the corner of the room.
"When did you get so deep and wise man?" Ratliff asked him.
"I don't know. Maybe I'm just growing up," Ryland stuck his tongue out at us.

"Should we bring it up with her? Her birthday I mean," Riker questioned us.
"I don't know. She didn't tell us about it maybe we shouldn't bring it up and upset her," I said.
"Ok Ross. We'll leave her alone about it then. Let's ignore it and have fun with her on this vacation, yeah?" Riker looked expectantly at me.
"You're right. Ok. Hey aren't we going out soon for lunch?"
"Yeah, go get ready dad said we'd be leaving soon."

I'm still so freaking confused about this. I understand why she wouldn't tell us if she nervous about pushing her luck with her famous new friends. But I guess I just wanted to be someone she could tell anything to. I've known her two days and I feel something special, I just wish I knew if she felt the same.
