Dressed to Impress

"What're you wearing tonight?" Maya asked me as I was going through my suitcase.
"I don't know. I haven't got anything for a party." I said plopping down on Del's bed.
"Yeah, I'm sick of all my party clothes," Emily said joining me on the bed. Del looked at us with a crazy happy expression on her face.
"Why don't we go shopping then?!" She asked us all. I looked around the room at the other girls to see their reactions. They all seemed excited so I agreed.
"Yay!" Del screamed. "Let's go then."

So Emily, Maya, Lucy and I followed her out and down the stairs to chubbs. (I know she doesn't have chubbs anymore but let's pretend 😉)
"Hey Mom! We're going shopping for outfits for tonight!" Delly screamed through the house before she ran out the door.
"Hold on!" We heard a male voice yell behind us. I turned around to see Rocky, Riker and Ell in the doorway, heading towards us.
"You weren't going to just leave and not say goodbye to your boyfriends, were you?" Riker asked going for a hug from Em. Rocky hugged Lucy, and Ratliff kissed Rydel. I just stood there awkwardly while they all did their couple thing together. I had no clue where Ross and Ryland were. The other guys were here. Maybe they were in the basement doing some music thing or just playing a video game. I didn't mind. We didn't need to see each other 24/7.

"Can we go now?" Del asked her brothers and boyfriend.
"You may leave, fair ladies," Rocky said in a British accent before he slightly bowed, but he never took his eyes off of the group of girls in from of him. We all giggled like stupid girls who had just been hit on by the most popular guy in school that everyone had a crush on. Ell and Riker didn't like the reaction Rocky got from us, so they picked him up and dragged him back inside with him screaming to us as they went, "Don't weep for me my love!" As soon as the front door closed behind them we all broke out laughing.
"That's your boyfriend," Del warned Lucy
"That's your brother, you're blood related." Lucy retorted. Rydel stuck her tongue out at Lucy before she climbed into the drivers seat.
"So where're we going?" She asked as she put her seatbelt on, the rest of us followed her, thinking about where to go.
"Why don't we just go to the mall. It's big enough." Maya suggested.
"Ok," Del said before turning the car on and leaving the driveway.

"Ok, which store first?" Emily asked.
"Forever21!" Lucy squealed.
"I love that store!" Del agreed. So that's where we went first. They were all chatting as we walked, but I just stayed quiet and soaked up the conversation. As soon as we reached Forever21, they all ran off in different directions, looking at different things. I just strolled around and looked at the clothes until a turquoise crop top on a mannequin caught my attention. I found it on the rack in my size and went to find one of the others. Em was he first person I saw and I showed her the top.
"OMG, Kat. You have to try that on," she told me.
"Heh, ok. Have you found anything yet?" I asked.
"Nah. I don't think I like anything in here. Oh well. Come on let's go see what you look like in that," she pointed at the top in my hand.
We went to the dressing room and I slipped into an empty one. I took my baggy shirt off and replaced it with the nice tight crop top. I looked in the mirror and really liked what I saw.
"You there, Em?" I asked.
"Yeah." She answered. I pulled he curtain back to reveal myself.
"That soooo suits you," she said.
"So should I get it?" I asked sheepishly.
"Totally!" We both laughed. "Was there anything else you liked?" She asked.
"Not really. Just the top." I told her.
"Cool. Let's go buy this then find the others."
"Ok. Just let me get changed first Em. Haha," I closed the curtains again and changed back before we both headed for the register. I payed for my top and went looking for Lucy, Maya and Del, who were waiting outside for us.

"Wow. You guys were quick. You didn't find anything?" I asked them.
"I did," Del replied.
"So did I," Lucy said.
"Nah," Maya said.
"So what'd you find?" Emily asked excited. Del pulled out a pink flowery crop top and a pink high waisted skirt.
"That's so cute Del," Em said looking at the items.
"Thanks. I still need some shoes, but I can wear my leather jacket and ripped black leggings with it." Del said.
"Sweet. What about you Lucy?" I asked.
I found this really pretty dress." Lucy took out a white dress with deep purple roses on it.
"The colour matches a purple cardigan I already have so that totally works." Lucy exclaimed.
"What about you guys?" Maya asked Emily and I.
"I didn't see anything." Emily answered.
"Really. I saw this really cute blue dress that would totally have suited you," Maya told her.
"Ooo, ooo. Show me." Emily got excited again. The other four of us laughed before Maya took Em back into the shop to show her the dress.
"Kat?" Del asked.
"Yeah?"
"What'd you get?"
"Oh right, heh. I found this cool crop top." I took it from the bag and held it up.
"That'll look so good on you Kat," Lucy stated.
"Thanks Luc,"

Emily and Maya came back out a few minutes later and Em had a bag on her arm.
"You liked the dress?" Lucy asked.
"Yeah. It really did suit me. Go figure," she laughed and we joined in.
"Ok, let's get going. Luc, Em and Del need shoes, Kat needs a skirt or some jeans or something as well as shoes and I need all of the above plus a top." Maya announced.
"Where to next then?" I asked not having a clue of what else was in this place.
"Hot Topic?" Maya suggested. The girls jumped up and started following Del to Hot Topic. It was incredible. There was so much supernatural merch. I loved it! There was also a fair bit of minion stuff, my Mum would've loved that.
"Guys, look!" Maya said holding up a minion crop top.
"That's cute," Lucy said.
"I wanna get it for the party." Maya told us.
"What else would you wear with it?" Del's asked.
"I have some nice high waisted jeans and my yellow converse that would go well with it." Maya said.
"Won't you get a little cold?" I asked.
"Maybe, but I don't have anything that would go with it."
"Ooo, you could borrow my blue leather jacket!" I said happily.
"Really?"
"Yeah, totally."
"Awesome. So my outfit is complete. That was easy."
I chuckled along with her. Maya went and bought the top while the rest of us walked around looking at the store.

"To topshop!" Emily exclaimed. I had never heard of any of these stores before. I wish Australia had some more diversity with their shops.
"Kat, there's this skirt that I want to show you," Emily said. She pulled me through the store and took a black leathery skirt off the rack.
"I think it'll totally go with the top." She told me.
I stared at it for a minute before deciding to get it.
"Now we need some shoes for you,"
"Nah, I'm just gonna wear my blue converse."
"Trust you to make a girly outfit less girly." She joked.
"What? I love converse. And heels are just so hard to walk in." I defended. We laughed at how pathetically tomboyish I could be.
"Let's just go buy the skirt then," I said. On the way to the register Emily saw a pair of blue heels.
"Kat, help me find my size. These are great."

"Did y'all get anything in there?" I asked.
"Shoes," Del said. "I found some pink wedge boots and Lucy got some silver sparkle pumps. What about you?"
"I got these blue heels that'll go so well with the dress." Emily said.
"Kat? Did you get shoes or anything?" Maya asked.
"Nah, as I said to Em, I'm just gonna wear my blue converse."
"Twins!" Maya held her hand up for a high five.
"But I did find a skirt to go with my top."
"Does that mean everyone has an outfit for tomorrow night?" Emily asked. We thought for a second then got excited. We had accomplished what we set out to do, now we could go and get some food.
"Are y'all hungry? Cause I'm starving," I confessed.
"Yeah I could go for some food," Lucy said.
"To the food court!" Maya proclaimed. We laughed and went to get some food.

1 hour later

"So what'd you get today?" Ross asked as I dropped my bags in my suitcase.
"It's a surprise. You'll have to wait till tomorrow night," I teased.
"Ooo, is it sexy?"
"Kinda. But I just think you'll be surprised to see me dressed like a real girl for once," I giggled.
"You are a real girl. You just don't act like one all the time." I rolled my eyes and put my arms around his neck.
"I love you, Puppy."
"Je t'aime aussi," he looked at me with a 'please explain' look.
"I love you too." I pecked his lips. "Ya big dummy."
