Surprise #2

It was the second last day of that I would ever have of hanging with the lynches, and we were just chilling by the hotel pool. There weren't many people around so they weren't worried about being spotted. Ben had actually become really good friends with El and Rocky. They were being stupid in the deep end of the pool, while Rydel, Riker and I were sitting in deck chairs enjoying the sun. I wondered where Ross was because he was missing out on the best rays and fun with the boys.

I closed my eyes for a few minutes and I must've fallen asleep because I was woken up with water all over my face. I jumped up, screaming, from the cold water that was dumped on me. I saw my brother and Rocky laughing in front of me. I leapt at my brother and climbed into his back. I started playing around and messing his hair up. He hated that. He tried to pull me off but my grip was too strong. Instead he just jumped into the water, with me still on his back. I swam up for air as I was not expecting him to do that. Everyone had surrounded us and we're laughing. Ross had somehow appeared out of nowhere.

I got out of the pool and grabbed my towel, drying myself off. Ross had taken Rikers seat next to me, since Riker had decided to jump in the pool for a swim.
"Hey Ross. Where've you been?"
"Still sorting stuff out for when we go back home."
"Oh," I wasn't trying to hide my emotions. They knew I was upset about them leaving tomorrow.

"Yeah I had to make sure I had everything all packed and ready to go."
"Wow. It's like you wanna leave already,"
"Well I am. We all are. There was a change of plans and we're all heading out late this afternoon,"
"What?" I whispered. "You're going this afternoon. I thought I had another day with you guys," I said feeling tear well up in my eyes.
"You do,"
"What? How? If you're leaving this afternoon, how is that possible?"
"Because we're leaving this afternoon," he said so unfazed.
"Yeah, you're leaving today," I put emphasis on today.
"No, WE'RE leaving today,"

"I know you said tha... wait what?"
"You're coming back with us. You and Ben." He had this giant smile on his face.
"You're kidding?"
"Would I kid about this?"
"OH, MY, GOD!!! Ross really??"
"Yep," he popped the P. I couldn't hold it back. I jumped into his lap and squeezed him tight.
"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."
"It's alright Kat. I'm glad you're happy."
"Happy? I'm ecstatic. I get to go to California for the first time ever with they guy I like," crap did I say that out loud?
"The guy you like?" He said raising is eyebrows.
"Well... no, I... that's not wha," that's all I could get out before he smashed his lips onto mine.

When he pulled away we were both smiling like idiots.
"So, does that mean I got another chance?" He said resting his forehead on mine.
"Yeah. You surprised me with this amazing trip. Of course I'm going to give you another chance. Especially if I'm going home with you guys."
He smiled, then passionately kissed me.
