"Riker I need your help."
"Sure bro. What'ya need?" He asked me.
"I want Kat to come back to California with us. I want to do something for her for her birthday."
"So this has nothing to do with proving yourself to her?"
"How do you know about that?" Seriously how did he know.
"Del. Girls talk to each other. And she's my best friend. So are you gonna answer my question?"
"Half yes half no."
"Haha. Ok, so what do you wanna do?"
"Well I was thinking......"
A few hours later
"You know the only way I'M letting this happen is if I come too?" Ben asked me from the other end of the phone.
"I figured that. So is it all good? Have we got a deal?"
"Yeah I guess so. But if you ever hurt my sister again, you'll be sorry."
"Got it."
He hung up on me. Phew.
"Everything's sorted with her family," I said turning to Riker.
"And everything with Mom and Dad is sorted. Looks like Kat's coming back home with us," he put his hand up for a hive five.
"What about the other thing? For her birthday?"
"Mom said she'd sort it when we got back."
"Sweet," I raised my hand for the high five this time.
