"what are you doing tonight?" jordan asked after i greeted him over the phone.

"i'm going to a club for a few hours," i answered. "why?"

"i was wondering if you'd wanna come over," he sighed. "can't you go to the club tomorrow night or something?"

i sucked my teeth. "sorry, but no. i told someone that i would be there tonight."

"someone? who's someone?" he quizzed. "wait, is it a date? have you already moved on from what's-her-face?"

"what? no, no. i haven't— it's not a date," i waved him off. "it's not a date, i just told her i would be there tonight; simple as that. also, i still don't understand why you continue to call her 'what's her face;' you know her name is sophia."

"yeah, whatever," he muttered. "but that thing tonight definitely sounds like a date," he said in a teasing tone.

"it's not, dude," i kissed my teeth. "you're annoying."

"yeah, yeah; you love me," he said. just from the tone of his voice, i could tell that he had a big grin played across his face.

"i do, but you're still annoying," i rolled my eyes. "i'll probably come over tomorrow, jordanian, don't worry. i'll see you then?"

"yeah, fine. i'll see you then, tiny."

"what are you still doing over here? go talk to the bartender," matthew chuckled as he made a shooing motion at me. "isn't she, like, the whole reason you came here tonight?"

"what? no," i huffed as i swatted his hands away.

he sent me a look. i glared up at him as i crossed my arms over my chest.

"she's not," i grumbled.

"right," he agreed sarcastically.

me and matthew have been at the club for nearly an hour now. i've been over by the dance floor with him since we got here.

"honestly, i really think you should go over there. it looks like she's been looking for you all night," he told me.

"she has?" my eyes widened a bit as i looked over towards the bar. billie was there, and she was currently cleaning some glasses. she looked up, and i looked away.

"go over there," he chuckled as he tried to push me over there.

i grumbled something incoherently underneath my breath as i swatted his hands way again. i shoved my hands into my pockets as i started to make my way over to the bar.

i took my seat in the stool i usually sit in. i pulled my phone out to lay it face down on the bar in front of me. i crossed my arms over the bar.

i looked over towards billie. she was finishing cleaning the glasses. she glanced up, and she looked over towards me. a small, barely noticeable smile made its way to her face.
