my brows furrowed as i woke up to shiloh barking. i sat up, and i rubbed at my eyes.

"shush, shiloh," i heard someone mumble. i quickly realized it was billie.

"princess? what are you doing here?" i asked softly. i glanced over at my alarm clock. "it's almost four in the morning."

she walked over to my bed, and she immediately clung onto me. i held her, and i pressed a kiss to her head.

"what's wrong, angel?" i quizzed softly.

"nightmare," she answered in a mumble as she tightened her grip on me.

i frowned. i gently moved us so that we were laying down, though i still held her closely.

"it's okay, princess," i comforted her as i began to run my hand through her hair. "i've gotchu. you're okay."

she buried her face into my chest. i held her for a while. i frowned again though when i felt her body shake a bit as she cried silently.

"it's okay. please, don't cry, baby," my frown deepened as i held her closer. "please, don't cry."

"i'm sorry, i—" she whimpered.

"hey," i cut her off. "don't apologize. you don't have anything to be sorry for. it's okay. i've gotchu, alright? you're okay, my love."

"it was so bad. and it felt so real," she sniffled.

"it was just a bad dream," i assured her as i cupped her face and wiped her tears. "it's over now."

i pressed a long kiss to her forehead. she sighed as i did. when i pulled back, she buried her face into my chest again. her hands slipped under the shirt i was wearing as she wrapped her arms around me. her hands were cold, but i didn't mind.

she cuddled closer to me, and i took the hint to hold her tighter. she slowly relaxed in my hold. i pressed a kiss to her head.

when her breathing evened out, and i knew that she was sleeping peacefully, i finally let myself fall back asleep.

"baby, get up," billie mumbled as she gently shook me awake. i groaned as i heard my alarm going off.

i blindly reached around until i found my phone. i turned the alarm off, though i made no attempt to get out of bed. i pulled billie close to me, and i buried my face into the crook of her neck.

"you gotta get up, lovebug," she murmured. "or you're gonna be late for work."

"can't we just cuddle all day?" i whined as she tried to get me out of the bed.

"i wish, but we can't," she shook her head.

i groaned again. i sat up, and i rubbed at my face. i sighed, then got up to go do my morning routine.
