Olivia ThorneI opened my eyes and even through the thick cream coloured curtains light got through the spaces blinding me, almost immediately making me seek visual protection by burying my face in my pillow.
When I looked back up again I managed to get a look at my bedroom. By the window was a curved seating area with a desk sticking out on one side with a chair on the other. cocoa coloured wooden flooring covered the room with exception to the carpet in the middle, and my large partial walk in closet with the bathroom just beside it off the hallway that would lead out to the stairs.
Rolling out of bed I walked around to the windows and pulled them open giving me a view out to the other brownstone houses in Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn.
I appreciated the view of orange red leaves that seemed to be starting to take over the trees all the while I watched my mom walk down to her car and wave up at me before getting into the driver seat and heading off to work.
My fixation only ended when the back of the white S7 disappeared around the corner leaving me to stare at where it once had been.
Letting out a sigh I stretched pulling the shirt I wore for sleep up before I walked away into the bathroom where I was met by my heart shaped face and messy dark brunette hair. Slate grey and emerald eyes followed my movements before I got undressed and stepped into the shower to finish waking me up.
Getting out twenty minutes later I dried off and got dressed in a red long sleeved slightly off shoulder crewneck, and grey washed out jeans before pulling my hair straight, and wishing I had the time to braid it. I could of course I'd just be here for forty minutes trying to get my hair to look how I wanted it too.
When I eventually walked out of the closet I spotted my phone fade to black from the recent notification I had received and opened it to find it was a message from my boyfriend Demetri.
Demetri
Good morning Olivia I will be there in a few minutes how did you sleep?
Received 7:51Morning Demetri, I slept okay just finished getting ready, I'll just have something quick for breakfast then be outside
Read 7:52Okay, make it quick though
Received 7:53Okay
Sent 7:54He had always been like this just a little demanding but I didn't really see it that way he enjoyed the time we got to spend alone before class which even I would admit I did too.
Getting downstairs I quickly made myself something small. I was probably too concerned about what I looked like, my mom thought I was fine but I always seemed to pick out something about myself to critique.
As I finished breakfast and slipped on my ankle boots I heard Demetri pull up outside because of the ridiculously loud exhaust on his car.
Demetri stood sitting on the hood of his silver Camaro, his auburn brown hair hung in long near spirals around his face, with his brown almost black eyes looking down at his phone.
"Demi" I coo and his head shoots up giving me a wry smile before sliding off the hood.
"Oli" he replies and I roll my eyes at the nickname while also scrunching my face at him.
"Don't call me that" I retort and he just gives me an indifferent shrug before unlocking the car.
"Wanna drive?" he offers likely as a peace offering.
