When I finally got back to Brooklyn I slowed outside my house and simply backed into the driveway being careful not to hit Aria's Supra.

She had wanted to see my house and catch up over the past year in a more personal setting so this was the result.

Getting out of the car I locked it and made my way up to the front door of the house, before entering to find Aria had begun making some form of food at eight o'clock at night.

The smell of spices wafted from the kitchen replacing the cool night air from outside that had joined me in the lobby with the scent of paprika and ginger.

"What are you making Aria?" I ask walking into the kitchen and leaning against the fridge while she mixed something in a Wok pot.

"I literally just threw something that seemed appealing into a pan with some oil and seasoning" Aria says looking over at me.

"So you raided my food and investigated my house, just because you could" I muse and she nods.

"I was hungry and you left to go somewhere" she replies and I nod.

"Fair" I shrug before heading upstairs to my room to change into comfy pants and a hoodie before staring out the window where I saw a red F12 park across the street sloppily before the door is pushed open and Sav gets out of the car her makeup even at a distance looks distorted and a green glass bottle was in her right hand as she pushed the door shut and walked towards my house in a stupor.

Rushing downstairs I looked at Aria who was plating food.

"Don't come outside, Savannah is here and clearly drunk" I warn as I walked towards the entryway of the townhouse before slipping on shoes and pulling open my front door.

Taking a step outside I walked down the steps to the driveway where Sav stood.

"Sav" I say cautiously as she didn't fully seem that well put together.

"Adrian" she gets out turning to face me.

"You're drunk, and shouldn't have been driving" I state attempting to reach for the bottle in her hand which she pulled away.

"I'm just a little tipsy" she protests, "have some it might loosen you up" Sav adds thrusting the bottle towards me.

That's a mistake waiting to happen.

"Savannah, no. I'm not drinking" I enforce both to get her to stop, and to convince myself that I wouldn't be having any.

My body was still too fresh to that slippery slope and it wasn't one I wished to plummet back into. My mind was still capable of remembering every bottle, the taste of my first one burning my throat the pain that it gave being drowned by my will to stand tall even if it made me tear. I had blinked away the tears, the the ones from the second bottle, and third, by the fourth I hadn't cracked. From then on I just knew my limit one bottle would fuck me up more then any other drug that was brought to that party, and I wasn't ever going to test that. I knew where I was, and I maintained control in everything in my life except this moment.

Sav stood before me a link to the moments of my life that I wanted most to forget she even had a tainted past one beyond the typical things that made people want to avoid someone, she was more cold then I was and I knew it, she would manipulate me and had pulled me in far enough that I knew that at the end of the day I was nothing but a pawn in her game. She was cunning, and at the end of the day I had seen more then my share of Thornbrook's top female students manipulate and control their way to the top.

The Lovell family wasn't exactly bad but their daughter had an agenda to get to the top which meant partying and earning dirt on all of her peers including me. Though the problem with me is that I don't have anything that she could prove. I also didn't play into the games though I collapsed into forgiveness too easily so now what the world would get is someone who was beyond being controlled or manipulated. They would get the unchecked version of the devil they so loved calling me.

It just started here.

"Come on it's just forty proof" she says, and I shake my head no.

"I'm not caving, I'm not drinking Savannah, now give me the bottle, you're drunk as it is" I enforce.

"I thought you said you weren't drinking" she says giving me a perplexed look that seemed to pierce me as she looked me up and down.

"You're right I'm not, I'm taking the bottle from you so you don't drink more or hurt yourself?" I reply before I hear the door to the house open and I turn to see Aria standing in the doorway.

"Everything okay out here?" she asks calmly, before I turn back to Sav who looked both agitated, and sorrowful as a tear rolled down her face dripping off onto the concrete ground between us.

"What is she doing here Adrian?"  Sav asks the other eye glossing over, and causing a tear to prick out into existence.

"Visiting, she wanted to see the house, and as one of my oldest friends I'm not going to deny her that at all" I affirm before I get hit across the face and reaching up I felt the thin veils of warmth across my finger tips only to find trails of blood thin streaked across my skin.

"Fucking cheater!" Sav exclaims swinging the bottle at me and missing before she turned and threw it at me which I narrowly dodged before it hit my Range Rover's window and shattered against it cracking the windshield in a spiderweb upon impact.

"Jesus Christ Savannah" I gasp as shards slid across the ground in all directions before Sav turned back to look at me.

"How long has it been happening?" she presses the tears and anger blending across her face.

"I didn't cheat on you, not even once. What the hell are you talking about?" I ask calmly knowing that if I get worked up she'll only get worse.

"Admit it. Because I know you, you've never been around girls unless you're making out with them. Admit it Adrian" Sav aggressed as Aria vanished back inside her phone in hand.

Sav kept yelling too, and at some point I just stopped listening to what she was saying, all I knew was that they were insults and angry words.

I also never moved my hands from my pockets as I avoided her physical actions to try and hit me.

Eventually moments later police arrived to deescalate the situation which allowed me and Sav to be separated and her to be led off to a car where she would be taken to the station where her parents could pay bail.

"Adrian Winters, is this your car, and house?" one of the officers asks looking at my damaged Range Rover, and to the house.

"Yes it is officer, my friend who is..." I trail off as I spotted that Aria had come out and was giving testimony to another officer. "Giving testimony already called the dispatcher" I finish and he nods.

"Domestic dispute's they happen kid. You have an attorney, and insurance?".

"Yes both" I reply.

"Perfect, we'll collect glass shards as evidence but other then that we can do nothing right now since the aggressor is in custody".

"That's fine mostly I care that no one is hurt, the scratches on my face can easily be treated" I shrug as I wasn't going to chicken out, nor did I particularly care.

"Well I'd suggest going inside, and let us sort all of this out" the officer says.

"You have a good night" I bid giving him a nod that got returned as I walked off toward the steps and back up inside the house where Aria stood with wide eyes.

"I wasn't expecting that to get heated at all" Aria remarks.

"Well it's over now, let's eat I can deal with breaking up with her tomorrow" I sigh kicking off my shoes and walking into the kitchen to dish up same as Aria before I went and got cleaned up, coming back down to sit with my friend whose offer I began thinking more about.

Maybe I will go to LA for the summer at some point.
