The following day I rolled out of bed and walked downstairs into the living room and pulled out the tub of yogurt with the box of granola to make myself breakfast in hopes of also making myself gain some of the weight I seemed to be losing from barely eating.
I couldn't get myself to either it simply just wasn't happening. I had noticed the lessening amount of food every the past few months I had gotten to the point I ate once a day, and it was an almost to small for me to function so now I was trying to counter it after I nearly passed out from lack of nutrients.
I then took out my phone and sat at the counter scrolling aimlessly through Instagram though I didn't really post anything what I did find fun was seeing how people lived their lives.
Getting to a recommended list I found the Thornbrook Polo Team profile which was filled with the trips these kids took which led me to a post where twenty four people stood leaning against the hoods of their cars and right in the middle against a gloss black McLaren 765LT with more carbon fibre accents then I'd ever seen on a vehicle was a boy with his hood up looking down staring at the ground and also untagged whilst the other people were posing with their vehicles.
I then looked around finding it interesting that all these kids looked almost proud they were so fortunate and completely disconnected from everything, then I read the caption to the photo curious if it would reflect what I assumed.
Thornbrooks best starting another season in a few weeks. Led by A.Winters and H.Ambrose (centre)
There was a brown haired boy there but he had covered his face slightly and like the boy I assumed was Adrian Winters had a hood on shielding his face from light.
"Did know they were all so secretive" I mutter before I hear footsteps on the stairs and leave the profile so my mom doesn't tease me for looking at people I'd likely never meet.
"Good morning Olivia" she greets with a smile.
"Morning mom" I reply giving her one in return as she walked over to the coffee machine to start making a pot.
"How did you sleep?" my mom asks glancing over her shoulder at me.
"I don't know, I still feel tired" I say as I took the final bite to my breakfast.
"Well if you want to have a nap later go for it I'm doing marking anyways".
"Teaching and on call?" I ask and she nods taking out two mugs for coffee.
"I'll be in my office" my mom says a moment later when the coffee machine beeped and she poured coffee into both mugs and took one walking off towards the office in our home.
Standing I put the mug into the dishwasher and made my coffee before walking upstairs to my room to watch a show and attempt to figure out what I was going to do today though one of my friends would probably ask.
As I sat down I began scrolling though until I found a comfort show and sat watching an episode without really paying attention to what was going on, I was present but also wasn't. So when my phone vibrated it made me partially jump and I saw it was from Demetri who had been calling me without me noticing that he had tried two times before sending the text.
Forgot my ringtone was silent.
Picking up the phone I called him back and after two rings he answered.
"Hi" he says and I could tell he was in his car because of the background noise of an engine.
"Hey, you called me" I say standing to make sure my door was shut, as I didn't know what purpose Demetri would be calling me.
"Yeah I'm just running errands in Queens and I was curious if you wanted to go on a short road trip while I finish these off?" he asks and for some reason he sounded like he was in a good mood.
"Sure" I say walking across the room to my bathroom.
"See you in like twenty minutes" he says.
"Okay, bye" I say before he repeats it and I hang up.
Tossing my phone onto the bed I walked into the bathroom and undressed before turning on the water and getting into the shower.
Washing off I purposely was taking up more of the hot water as a way to try and steam my skin since I probably should be doing laundry instead of just throwing on the same hoodie in the morning five days in a row.
Getting out ten minutes later which had to be a record I quickly put on an outfit that was suitable for the weather and walked downstairs to go into my moms office.
"Hi mom, I'm going out with Demetri for a little bit, I shouldn't be long?" I say leaning in the doorway.
"Okay, do you have your phone?" my mom asks covering the receiver of her phone.
"Yes I do" I say and she nods before I leave as to not disrupt her any longer.
As I got to the front door I heard Demetri's car outside and stepped out locking the door before coming down to his car and for a brief moment I felt the flash of memories as the day when everything began came and he parked waiting for me at the bottom of the steps appeared before me but now everything was different and the frosty air seemed to remind me of it all.
Getting down to the car I pulled the door open and slid inside next to Demetri who turned his music down as I buckled my seatbelt.
"So where are we going?" I ask as he drove off towards the end of the street.
"No where I just wanted to talk to you I feel bad about what I said calling you what I did wasn't right and isn't fair to treat you like that so I'm sorry for what I did" he says turning and driving off through the snowy roads.
"You're forgiven" I say before looking out the window to avoid his gaze. The problem was that he always sounded so genuine yet it was never true and there was only so many more times that I could take being lied to my face so I'd rather be lied to and not see his face.
Several minutes later he pulled up to his apartment and got out of the car.
"I thought we could have a casual movie day" he says with a smile before I got out and cautiously followed him into the building and up the stairs to his floor.
Walking into the apartment I expected my mind to remind me of all the bad times but instead I was allowed the peace of walking into a place with so many memories.
"If you pick something I'll make popcorn for us" Demetri says using a remote to close the blinds as I turned the TV on before scanning through what he watched until finding something that was on his recommended bar and seemed interesting.
When he joined me I scooted over but he set his arm behind me and set the bowl down on both our legs for equal balance before the movie started and I hoped that he would keep his word for the entirety of it though I always remained on edge.
Done now I have the rest of the things that I need to do today to complete, yay, however comment, vote, and share. AnywaysPeace✌
