Today was the day we'd all be going to Waccabuc for spring break. I was beyond tired and really didn't feel like going anywhere, but my lake house was big enough to hide in.
Pulling on jeans and a hoodie I walked downstairs to my entryway where I had prepped myself coffee for my trip along with a shake which I'd just wash and return to my vehicle though I was slightly struggling to pick which vehicle I was hoping to take to Waccabuc.
Brabus is always fitting.
Listening to my brain I took out the key to my favourite SUV, and also the most aggressive looking vehicle I owned.
I would be lying if I didn't think it was the vehicle that fitted me as a person the most but I also had such luxurious taste that certain vehicles were my favourites and it gave the media something to talk about for a little only to have it ruined, though I'd love to drive the same vehicle for a month or so just to annoy photographers because all the pictures would look the same.
Pulling on a thin trench coat that the colour pattern reminded me a bit like marble, I walked out of my house using my phone to lock the door and get down to the garage which I opened and walked over to the massive black vehicle that I loved so much.
I need like a truck or some shit to seem less conspicuous.
Not like I didn't own them, I had two in Wyoming at my ranch but that was because I also owned horses and I had to have some way of transporting them when I bought them. There was also the fact that I might like cars more but trucks still were fun, by all accounts this modified G-Wagon was a truck but visibly most people wouldn't call it that.
Opening the door I let the running board come down before climbing up into the vehicle which was stupidly tall by comparison to my six-two frame, the damn thing was like eight and a half feet tall. Kate would come to the hood and the only reason I know that is because Mia had stood in front of it and is a little bit shorter then my sister.
Starting the vehicle which shook slightly though the suspension stopped it from wobbling very quickly since it had adaptive suspension which was an option that I asked for and paid for.
Why I paid so much money for all my cars I didn't know, it was fun though, and I could never say I didn't get what I wanted.
Driving out of the garage, I sped off towards the Harrington Mansion and very quickly pulled into the driveway parking behind the Panamera Nico had driven today before slipping out of the vehicle and walked to the front door to knock.
Not even a minute later the door opened and Mia stood looking half asleep still and partially wrapped in a blanket while carrying her bag, same as Nico who looked to have been awake but likely had to help Mia get up and ready for the day.
"Morning Adrian" she says walking towards my vehicle and stopping.
"How the hell am I supposed to get in Adrian, I'm five-five" Mia says and I turn to see that it was just about at her waist for ground clearance.
"Open the back door it has a running board" I call over to her turning back to Nico.
"She got up ten minutes ago" he says.
"Well we have two more idiots to get so time to see how this goes" I muse walking to my Brabus and opening my door before climbing inside.
Once Nico had gotten in I restarted the engine and drove off towards Manhattan, though that currently meant annoying most of Long Island even though the exhaust was on a quieter setting.
It was on the quietest setting, I just happened to drive like I was on an F1 track.
Eventually I pulled up to Hunter's building with Mia asleep in the back seat, and Nico in the front seat taking shotgun.
New York as expected was far from quiet and both idiots looked like they were already on full energy both had food, and Riley was holding a Starbucks Frappe that was definitely loaded with sugar and whipped cream.
"Niles if you spill that in here I will literally make you walk all the way to Waccabuc" I warn giving him a pointed look, along with flicking my eyes towards a sleeping Mia who both boys were careful not to disturb though I found it funny that Hunter took the seat closest to her.
"Are your hands washed Ambrose?" I pry as I pull away from the curb and merge into the busying traffic to head North towards Waccabuc, all the while Hunter flipped me off in the back seat.
Over the next half an hour the city changed into suburban areas where I spotted the red Maserati pulling out of the Lovell driveway that quickly joined up behind us.
The rest of the journey we stayed in relative quiet to let Mia remain sleeping which meant I stopped paying attention to my mirrors as much since I wasn't wanting to make any maneuvers that would cause her to wake up.
I also was looking at the trees and nature more both to enjoy it, and so that if a moose comes out of the bush I don't have to hit it with my two ton vehicle including cargo, and occupants. There was also that I cared about nature, and the people in this vehicle, also my vehicle was the size of a moose so I was getting impaled if I hit one.
Eventually I got to the road that my house was on and pulled down it getting to my lot after a few minutes and pulling in to park leaving the vehicle in a decent place for unloading everything.
"We're here someone wake up Mia".
"Got it" Hunter says and softly shakes her which caused her to blink her eyes stretching each set of muscles individually.
It was so interesting to see Hunter's playboy persona slip as if he like me was hiding from a part of himself he was scared of, just in Hunter's case it was being close to his friends sister, and in mine that everyone I let in besides those in this vehicle used me or manipulated me to some degree.
Getting out I then went to the back and took all the bags out setting them in a pile. If it was later in the day I'd toss it at them but today I was feeling nice.
"You didn't pick on them did you?" Sav asks as I walk towards the front door of the home.
"Of course I did, also I think it might be nice to have an early morning fire" I say as I walked through the entryway and out to the back of the house where I got immediate lake air blowing in my face.
I then left the door open and went up to my room to put my coat away before heading back downstairs where I found the boys and Mia all heading out to the backyard.
"What's the plan?" Hunter asks as I walk out and head down to the firepit.
"Water balloon fight" Riley declares racing off to the side shed to get access to my stash of water balloons that he had asked me to keep here likely for this exact purpose.
"You're not allowed to hit me" I yell after him before getting the ax I kept down here and collecting four logs before chopping them in such a way that I could quickly end up with a roaring fire.
"Come here bitch!" Riley yells running after Hunter with two water balloons and I just watch in mild amusement as they began throwing latex casings of water at one another.
These idiots.
When I was done I tossed a match into the bottom middle and it quickly caught fire before spreading.
I then moved to sit back in one of the chairs and looked around me to all of my friends and my girlfriend and I could say that maybe things would get better as the rest of the year played out, but I also wouldn't hold my breathe I knew better then that.
A technical short chapter my range of what I consider short, acceptable, good, and long are kinda separated slightly so keep that in mind, comment, vote, and share, I appreciate all of you and for everyone going to school have a good school year, everyone else have a good day. AnywaysPeace✌
