When the bell finally rang I begrudgingly headed off to class to take my stupid Spanish quiz, I could do it, I just had no wish to do it at all, and had I not had the test today I wouldn't have shown up, but I still had to which wasn't something I particularly wished to be doing.
Pushing open the door to the secret room I pushed it shut, and walked towards my classroom with vague intent to be late by at least a few minutes so I could skip the morning talk and just do the fucking test.
Walking along the sub halls towards the classes I made sure I was both quick and unseen not that it would have mattered people got out of my way anyways so it wasn't top of my priorities to be polite to anyone.
Getting to class I walked across the room to my chair and sat down next to Nico while tossing my blazer onto the table.
"Good morning Adrian" he says and I glance at him giving a nod as a response before settling in for the test which the teacher was already handing out.
"Winters you're late".
"Yeah well it's not like you make this bloody course interesting" I mutter under my breath which causes Nico to scoff lightly before the test slid across my desk, and I started on writing out the answers expertly in Spanish.
The school didn't let me take a more advanced version of this course though even then I wouldn't have struggled. Rosenburg was in Switzerland and on Spring break I often went to Spain to visit one of my friends family who liked me for some reason.
When I flipped over the page Nico glanced at me which I turned my eyes to focus on him as he mouthed 'what the fuck', before I looked down at his own page which was three quarters covered.
"Do better Harrington" I whisper.
"You're on" he says and we both raced to complete our test which at the exact same time we dropped our pencils and walked to the front of the class.
"You both can leave" our teacher says and Nico and I collect our things before heading to the door while both of the idiots stared at us in shock.
I didn't want to be there it shows.
Walking through the hall I pulled on my blazer and went through my work deciding I'd hand it in to get my classes over with for this semester.
"Where are you headed?" Nico asks as we got about halfway down the hallway.
"I need to hand it all this, then I'll probably go home, you?".
"Just might as well go home I have nothing left for today, though Hunter and Riley convinced me to go to a party".
"Whose, Sebastian?" I implore.
"Yeah, I didn't really want to go, but Riley then pulled the I got Mia to agree, and I don't like the idea of Sebastian near my sister without me there".
If only he knew about Hunter.
"The boys wouldn't let anything happen to her and you know that, but I still get where you're coming from trust me, there are some days I half expect to need to fly to Los Angeles to kick the ass of some bastard who touched Kate".
Nico laughs rubbing the bridge of his nose.
"I probably get this protectiveness from being around you all the time".
"There are worse habits you could have picked up off of me" I remark and he just smiles knowing as well as me many of my bad habits, just not all of the bad ones because as much as I trust Nico, I don't wish to include him in my bullshit so why would I put him through that.
Getting to the end of the hallway we separated, him going towards the parking lot and me towards my three other classes to drop off the completed work that I had done over the period of me being in my penthouse isolating from the world.
When I finally had finished dropping off all of my work I began to make my way out of the school, though I would admit I wasn't actually going that fast as sleep was beginning to will itself back on me.
I may be needing to stop for coffee.
As I got to the entryway of the school I heard my name be called out and turning I was met with Sav who was practically racing down the stairs to catch up with me.
"Savannah" I reply an amused smile crossing my lips as she got to me.
"Where are you going?".
"I am done my test for the day, and handed in all my work, so home, after I get coffee" I say blinking a few times to try and get myself to be more alert.
"I'll buy for you, I have nothing to do either" she says leading me out of the school and towards my car.
Unlocking it as she stood looking rather suited to the vehicle I watched her hop inside and I copied her getting into the driver seat so I could start the car.
I then backed out of my spot the snow beneath my tires cracking as I did so before driving off towards the exit, and out onto the main road.
As I drove I reached my hand over and Sav took it moving it to be on top of her thigh where she could more easily hold it.
Confident or not she can't deny she's a small human being.
When we reached the light at the end of the road she glanced over at me.
"So what coffee place do you want to go?" she asks, and I shrug. My give a fuck was at zero right now, and I honestly was willing to commit the biggest gamble at the moment.
"Pick a place and we'll go to it" I state.
"The one in Central Park was really good, and its close, could go there" she muses as if I might disagree with her.
"No disagreement here" I admit, and as the light changes I check the road and drive off towards Central Park.
Passing several buildings that had cars lining the sidewalks but none actually moving I quickly made it to the park, and found a spot.
Sliding out, I then buttoned my coat, and locked the car door after Sav had also gotten out.
I then walked to the front of the car and held out my hand which she took and we walked off along the path into the snow blanketed park.
The wind softly blew past our faces dusting our eyelashes with snowflakes from the trees, and making our skin red from the cold.
Getting to the café I opened the door letting Sav inside before following after her and brushing my feet against the welcome mat.
"Good morning what can I get you?" the woman running the counter asks Sav who had a light dusting of snow in her silvery hair.
"I'll have a Mocha cappuccino please" she says pulling out a ten and setting it down.
"Ill please have a caramel macchiato" I add, and the woman nods before Sav and I walk to the side where we wait for our drinks which were set before us in a few minutes.
"Thank you" Sav says and I give the woman a smile before we walked over to a table and sat down to enjoy our drinks in the warmth of the café.
"So after this what then?" I ask taking a sip of my drink.
"I was hoping to do some Fifth Avenue shopping" she says and I hum acknowledgment.
"Mind if I join you?" I ask and she shakes her head.
"No not at all" she smiles and I give her a ghost of one in return.
Whether I wanted to admit it or not I liked these moments where there was nothing but just sitting here with Sav some plan put for later.
This also happened a lot as both Sav and I often had plans but would lose track of time either talking or going on a drive like the one day I wished to escape the rush of Thornbrook and went to the clearing, or when we spent the afternoon with one another in my penthouse. Or our dates that never quite seemed long enough.
It was those simple things that made me feel the same foreign almost pleasant feeling inside; and I hoped it doesn't go away.
So this is today's update, I'm also secretly writing a book that delves to a joint project between me and friend using a character I created, comment, vote, and share. AnywaysPeace✌
