It's November 19th 1983. I am 16 and a junior at Hawkins high. I play volleyball during the fall, wrestling during the winter, and track during the spring. People mostly know me from my involvement in the school and through friends.
I'll say this, everyone knows me. A lot of people talk to me. I'm one of the "popular" people at my school. I don't really like giving myself that label though. Popularity means nothing out of school. People call me popular because I'm outgoing and can just talk and talk.

Some room ideas^^
I close my journal from my bed and let out a large sigh. My mom is down stairs making dinner. Dad is helping her. I decide to hop out of bed and drag my feet to check if dinner is ready.
I finished my homework after spending 2 hours on it. I had my friend Darcy Lynn help me out with the flash cards I made until her mother called saying that she had to head home.
"Hey honey, dinners ready!" My mother smiles at me.
I smile back at her and kiss both her and dad on the cheek. "What's for dinner?"
"Glad you asked. Your father made steak, and I made some rice, along with some potato's and a blackberry pie."
"Yum," I comment and grab a plate.
We all sit down at the dinner table. Dad talked about his day along with mom until it got to my turn. "So y/n, how was school today?"
I perk up, "oh my god, I have such a big test for advanced chemistry."
"Really?" Dad chuckles.
"Yes, that's why Darcy was here for so long today. I need to get over an 80 to pass that class."
"Well, I'll be hoping you get a good grade," mom smiles, and takes a bite of steak.
I smile, and finish my meal. I suddenly hear my phone ring and rush up to my room to pick it up. "Hello?"
"Hey y/n!"
"Tammy!"
"Did you study for the chem test today?"
"Yep, I am literally terrified," I laugh.
"I know right! But hey, you're literally the smartest girl I know. You'll definitely Ace that test."
"I hope," I lay flat on my bed twirling the phone cord with my finger.
"So, how's you and Thomas?"
"Not so good. We actually um broke up."
"What?!"
"Yeah.."
"Since when?"
"Since literally two days ago."
"Girl, he literally was staring at you yesterday," Tammy laughs.
"Ew."
"Ew?"
"Yeah, he was the one who broke up with me."
"True, well I'll see you tomorrow?"
"See you tomorrow."
I hang up, turn off my lamp and shut my eyes.

November 20th 1983.
I wake up and get ready for school. I grab my keys and leave for school. I don't eat breakfast mostly because I just don't have an appetite.
I walk to my locker which is across from Nancy's. I put in my combination and open my locker. I see Nancy rush to her locker. I shrug and collect my books for the next period. I turn around to see Steve and Nancy doing kissy face with each other. I roll my eyes and walk to 5th.
I sit next to Steve during English. I honestly don't know what I saw in him through my freshman to sophomore year. He's such a douche. "Hey, did you do the homework?" Steve leaned over towards me.
I look over at him slightly, "yeah, did you?"
"Nah, can I uh copy?"
"Sure, just don't make it obvious you did, okay?" I put my finger up and point at him with a stern face.
"0kay smarty," his smirks.
"Okay?" I hand him my work and cross my arms. On my left was just a small acquaintance of mine so I started some small talk with them until the bell rang.
"Okay class, I hope you guys did the homework because we will be writing a 10 page essay."
I roll my eyes and sigh, Steve slickly hands me my homework without the teacher knowing. "Thank you," he mutters. I nod and turns towards to teacher.
It's been about 50 minutes in class and the bell finally rang and it was finally my lunch period. I jump up and start walking to the cafeteria. "Y/n! Wait up Bug!"
I turn around to see John Prankes . I smile and stop for him to catch up, "Hey."
"Wanna eat lunch with me and my friends today?" He smiles sweetly.
"Of course."
He smiles and looks away towards his other friend Larry. Larry smirks at him and then me. I raise an eyebrow and continue walking to the cafeteria with the two boys to see a group of guys yelling "JP!" I've met Johnnys friends before and they're cool I don't have a problem with them at all.
To the left of us was Nancy and Steve's group. I could hear Carol and Tommy moaning and banging on the lunch table. I ignore it, Steve and Nancy probably fucked and their making fun of them.
"Shut the fuck up Tommy!" Christopher Randolph yells.
Tommy looks over and starts whistling and bangs more on the table. The guys at my table start howling. I just sit there and eat my food while judging them all silently.

the bell rings which means school is over and I was walking to my car to find Jonathan picking up his broken camera.
Johnathan and I go way back. We've known each other since junior high. His little brother Will has gone missing. So, He's been a little up tight lately.
I frown and walk up to him. "what happened?" I bend down to help him.
"Nothing, just Steve and Tommy H."
"Makes sense, they're jerks. Do you need a new camera? I have one."
"Oh no, that's yours I can't just take it."
"No, I assist, you need it more than me," I laugh.
"You're also in yearbook y/n. You need it."
I sigh, "can I at least help you buy a new one? I'm good at shopping."
