Chapter 42

Warning ⚠️ there will be smut in this chapter! I will show a warning once we get to that part for those of you who don't like reading smut. For those of you freaky gals, here you go ;)

Steve and I were putting our roller skates at the rink. They were playing 'take on me' by A-ha. Steve gets up with no problem. Me on the other hand still struggles with balancing on these things. I can barely skate on a skateboard what makes you think I would be good at this.

I attempt to stand up but before I fall Steve catches me.

"Woah, watch out," Steve chuckles. Steve holds my hand and leads me to the entrance.

"We're not racing," I tell him.

"What? But it just got fun."

I narrow my eyes at him and he laughs, "I'm joking. I'm joking. Come on," he slowly leads me into the rink.

"You know you look so dumb right now," Steve smirks. He knows he can get in my nerves right now because I can't punch him right now since I need his help.

"I hate you so much," I groan.

"Whatever, I love you, too. Give me your hand," he laughs. I do as he says and we steadily start to slowly skate down the rink.

I stumble every now and then, but Steve would always reassure me. "Steve, I don't remember this being so hard. Last time I came here I was with all my high school friends. We would all skate together and I remember Tyler, and Amy would always trip me, but I always got them back. Me and Michael would scare them making them fall to their feet."

"That sounds funny," Steve laughs. The nice thing about dating someone who went to school with you is that you can say something about someone from school and they would know them too. The funny thing is that Steve and I had tons of mutual friends but him and I never hung out.

As the music fades into the next and the lights dim and speaker turns on. "This is for the lovers," he says with a low voice.

"Oh my God," I shake my head. We stay on the rink. Steve would randomly crack a pick up line that would make my giggle.

We talked about Tina's graduation party and how much fun it was. We got banana splits and talked about the kids. How I was recording and Dustin and Steve were singing their hearts out to 'I wanna know what love is'.

How Max tried to teach me how to skate but failed tremendously. About how the kids convinced me to play D&D with them back in '84 , and old memories with Steve.

Steve and I arrive at my house and I sit on my couch. "What a day," I sigh and look towards Steve who is putting his keys on my table.

"Yeah, and tomorrow we're going to the homeless shelter to help everyone who lost their homes during the gate thing. We're picking up Robin, too."

"Oh right," I nod. Steve sits down next to me.

"What's on right now anyways?" Steve asks.

"I have no idea," I say and I grab the remote to turn on the TV. Steve wraps his arm around me as I flip through the channels. "Nothing. Wanna watch something on VHS?"

"What you got?"

"Well, we can look," I stand up and walk towards the cupboard under my TV. "Let's see, we have Star Wars, Back to the future, every single Disney movie that has come out, Goonies, um, the Breakfast Club."
