Chapter 33

We were hiding in a cave away from the Demobats. Robin gets up.

"Oh, Okay. That was close," Robin gasps.

"Yeah," Steve agrees.

"Too close," Eddie's voice cracks.

Steve tries to walk but fails and uses the rock to hoist himself up.

"Steve," I rush to his aid.

"I'm fine," he squints in pain.

"No you're not. You are literally gushing blood, dude. Sit," I lightly push him down and he obeys. He groans in pain as he hits the floor and removes his hand from one of his wounds revealing a deep nasty wound.

"Holy shit, Steve," I grimace. "This is one of the ugliest wounds I have ever seen."

Robin crouches down next to us, "so the good news is I'm pretty sure wooziness is not a symptom of rabies, but if you start having hallucinations or muscle spasms or you start feeling aggressive, like you wanna punch me, let me know," Robin gushes.

"Robin," Steve grunts.

"Yeah?"

"I kinda wanna punch you," Steve pants.

Robin laughs, "your sense of humor's still intact. That's a good sign."

I take off my crewneck revealing my tight low cropped white tank top that goes with my blue rugged mom jeans. I rip my crew neck to create something like a giant bandage. I hold it out towards Steve which makes him move closer to me.

"Ready?" I gently ask.

"Yep. Just do it," Steve lifts his arms. I lean in to wrap my crewneck around his body as he tries to not whimper. I glance up at him as I tie the clothing together. I pull hard making him grunt.

"Is this okay?" I ask.

"Yep, that's good," He looks down at me.

"Okay," I continue to tie as he lowers himself down to my eye level. I can hear his heavy breathing as his legs are on either side of me.

I finish up and look at him to see him already looking at me with those eyes. It gives me butterfly's and I can feel a light heat on my cheeks.

"Don't look at me like that," I playfully say.

"Why?" He lightly smiles.

I don't answer. All I do is playfully glare at him and look away.

"Hey guys?!" Eddie yells. "This place is like Hawkins, but with monsters and nasty shit?"

"Yeah," I scoff as I help Steve up. Eddie starts to walk down the tree trunk but Nancy stops him.

"Wait. Watch for the vines. It's all a hive mind."

"It's all a what?" Eddie looks towards me.

"All of those weird lookin black vines are alive and if you touch one they'll all— you know. Come after you. When I say all I mean like those bats and then next Vecna," I explain.

Eddie starts to carefully walk down. "But everything from our world is still here, right? Except people, obviously?" Robin asks.

"As far as I understand it, yeah," Nancy confirms.

"So, theoretically, we could go to the police station and steal guns and whatever we need to blow up those bat things that are guarding the gate." Robin suggests.

"I highly doubt the Hawkins PD has grenades, Robin, but guns, yes, sure," Steve says.

"Well, we don't have to go all the way downtown for guns," Nancy says. "I have guns in my bedroom."
