Chapter 41

Steve and I walk inside his house. "Steve!" Steve's mom rushes to him with tears in her eyes. She turns toward me and outstretches her arms towards me. "We've been so worried sick about you two."

"I'm sorry," Steve says. "Where dad?"

"He's upstairs," she's replies. "Honey!"

Steve's dad rushes downstairs to lay eyes on his son and me.

"Holy shit, where have you two been?" He asks rushing towards us.

"We've been with Robin," Steve says. "I told you."

"Yeah, but not that you'll be with her for over three days."

"It doesn't matter. All that matters is that you two are safe and not dead." She's says. She looks at me, "go take a shower. Both of you. You two look like you've been inside the trash hole."

"Okay," Steve nods. "Come on." He looks at me and we both head upstairs.

"We have to go to the hospital tomorrow. I heard there letting her have visitors," I speak up

"Yeah, of course." We both part our ways to take showers. I grab some mom jeans and a long sleeve along with my wrestling varsity jacket and take them with me to the bathroom as I lock the door.

I slowly get undressed and hop in the hot shower. I take this time to myself as I sob my heart out. I hate this so much. Vecna is the worst thing that has happened over the years. He killed Eddie. He almost killed Max. He forced me to look at my dead family. He's horrible.

I scrub myself with body wash and my hair with shampoo. I condition and rinse my body off. I shave and put some body scrub after. I turn off the water so I can lather myself with my lotion.

I put on my clothes and underwear before I leave the bathroom. My cheeks and nose are red along with my eyes from crying. I flop on the guest bed and close my eyes.

I'm happy my house wasn't destroyed during the 'earthquake'. I start packing my clothes now that I feel like I'm ready to move back into my house. It is under my name now so I have it. The house is mine.

"Knock knock," Steve says.

"Come in," I say as I stick one of my shirts in my suitcase.

"What are you doing?" Steve looks at me.

"I'm leaving to go back to my house," I sigh, as I set down my clothes to turn to him.

"What? Why?" He sits on my bed.

"Because I can't say here forever, Steve. I have to go back home," I answer.

"Can I come with you?"

"You can visit me, yes. You would have to talk to your parents about moving in though," I laugh.

"I am so glad everything is over," Steve lays down on my bed.

"Hey, feelings are mutual,"

"Yeah," he sits up and looks at me. "I'm just so bummed you're leaving already."

"Well, I was told I can move back in now. You can help me move back in, right?"

"Yeah, Of course I can help my beautiful girlfriend," he gets up and walks over to me. I look up and outstretch my arms to hug him. He hugs me back with a sigh.

"I love hugging you, you know?" I mutter into his neck.

"Never knew that," he laughs sarcastically. For some reason hugging him triggers me to cry. "Are...you crying?"
