Chapter 15:

Narrators POV:

Both Robin and Steve both puked their guts out. Asking each other questions. "Alright, my turn. Have you.... ever been in love?" Robin asks, sitting on the floor with Steve in a different stall.

"Yep, Nancy Wheeler. First semester, senior year."

"Oh my god," Robin rolls her eyes. "She's such a priss."

"Hm, brings out not really."

"Are you still in love with Nancy?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"I think it's because I found someone who's a little bit better for me." Steve chuckles, "it's crazy. Ever since Dustin got home he's been saying, "you've gotta' find your Suzie. You gotta' find your Suzie.""

"Wait who's Suzie?"

"It's some girl from camp, I guess his girlfriend. To be honest with you I'm not 100% sure she's even real. But that's not— that's not the point. The point is this girl, you know, the one I like. It's somebody that I barely even talked to in high school. I don't really know why." Steve looks to the ground.

"Maybe it's  'cause Tommy H. would've made fun of me, or everyone would make a big deal out of it. It's pretty stupid. I mean, Dustin's right, it's all just a bunch of bullshit anyways. Because when I think about it. I should've been hanging out with her the whole time. First of all, she's funny. She is so funny. She's cute, quite gorgeous actually. I feel like ever since I've gotten the chance to talk to her I've laughed and had more fun than I have even had in a very long time."

"And she's smart. Like straight A's smart, way smarter than me. I remember the amount of metals she had around her neck graduation year. She can make every guy tip 'scoops ahoy!' with just a smile. She's—she's so caring too. The way she cares for those kids like they're her own is just amazing."

Robin looked down in realization of who he was describing. Steve continues, "you know? She's honestly unlike anyone I've ever even met before."

The two sit there in silence for a brief moment. "Robin?" Steve taps on the stall, "Robin did you just OD in there?"

"No," Robin sighs. "I...am still alive." Steve slides under from his stall to hers. "The floors disgusting," Robin says.

"Yeah, well, already got a bunch of blood and puke on my shirt. So...what do you think?"

"About?"

"This girl."

"She sounds awesome."

"She is awesome. And what about the guy?"

"I think he's on drugs, and he's not thinking straight. Look I don't even think you would want to be my friend if I told you what I'm about to tell you."

"Really? 'Cause I think he's thinking a lot more clearly than usual."

"He's not. Listen to me Steve. It shocked me to my core, but I'm not like your other friends. Do you remember what I said about Click's class? About me being jealous and, like, obsessed?"

"Yeah."

"it isn't because I had a crush on you. It's because she wouldn't stop staring at you."

"Mrs. Click?"

Robin chuckles, "y/n Johnson." Robin looks to the side. "I wanted her to look at me. But... she couldn't pull her eyes away from you, and your stupid hair. And I didn't understand, because you would get bagel crumbs all over the floor, and you asked dumb questions. And you were a douchebag. And— and you didn't even look her way. I would go home and just scream in my pillow."

"But Y/n Johnson's a girl."

"Steve," Robin whispers under her breath.

"Yeah?"

Robin just stares and him until he realizes. "Oh."

"Oh," she mimics his slowness.

"Holy shit."

"Yeah. Holy shit." Robin looks over at Steve who looks like he just died. "Steve, did you OD over there?"

"No, just uh, just thinkin'."

"Okay." Robin mouths.

"I mean yeah, I can't believe we both fell for the same person."

"Yeah, but you clearly have more of a chance."

"How?"

"Y/n is clearly into guys."

"You don't know that. She could also like girls."

"I've never out of my years of admiring seen her stare lovingly at a girl. Besides she clearly was into you. She probably still is."

"I can't believe one of the hottest girls at school used to like me and I never knew it."

"Yep, she had those googly eyes for you."

"Oh my god."

"Yep, just don't tell her I told you that. And if you guys do happen don't worry, I'm over half way over her. I'm about 90% there."

Steve laughs lightly, "you think she still likes me?"

"I have no idea. I'll let you know when we see her."

Just then, Dustin whips open the door with Erica and Y/n behind him. "What the fuck?!"

"Are you guys okay?! We told you to stay put." Y/n rushed to the two of us and gives them a pat on the shoulders while squatting down.

Robin and Steve look at each other and laugh their ass's off.
