Chapter 12:

Y/n's POV:

"Look at that," Dustin gasps. We look his way to see a long hallway.

"Well, hope you guys are in good shape. Looking at you roast beef," he pats Dustin on the shoulder.

"What does he mean by that?" Dustin asks me.

"Just come on," I put my arm around his shoulder.

"What does he-why me?" We have been walking for a little bit and I have just been looking at how amazing this is, "I mean, you have to admit, as feat of engineering alone this is impressive."

"What are you talking about? It's a total fire hazard," Steve says. "There's no stair, there's no exit, there's just an elevator that stops you halfway to hell."

"Which is sick. Like we're here for free. How often do you get to explore a secret Russian base?"

"Never."

"Exactly, it's like we're in a movie."

"They're commies," Erica says looking at me weird. "You don't pay people. They cut corners."

"To be fair to our Russian comrades, I don't think this tunnel was designed for walking. Think about it, they developed the perfect system for transporting that cargo," Robin points out.

"It all comes into the mall like any old delivery," Dustin says.

"And then they loaded up on to those trucks and nobody's the wiser."

"You think they built this whole mall so they could transport that green poison?" Steve asks.

"I very seriously doubt it's something as boring as poison. It's gotta be much more valuable, like promethium or something," Dustin says.

"Nah, it's probably like they're hiding a Demogorgon and they're feeding it poison."

"Okay, Y/n, first of all El closed the portal, and second poison would kill the Demogorgon," Dustin clarifies.

"Yeah, but imagine they have one that survived."

"I'm imagining- that it never happened," Dustin says. I roll my eyes.

"What the hell is promethium?" Steve asks.

"It's what victor stones dad used to make cyborgs bionic and cybernetic components," Robin says.

"You're all so nerdy, it's makes me physically ill."

"No, no, no. No, don't lump me with them. I'm not a nerd, alright?" Steve tells Erica.

"Hey, I am offended you just called me a nerd," I gasp.

"You are such a nerd!" They all say.

I get taken back, "what? How?"

"You literally played D&D, watch Star Wars, read comic books, get good grades and your favorite subject is science. Do I have to keep going?" Dustin explains.

"I-" I choke on my words. "Still-" I groan.

"And why so sensitive, Harrington? Afraid Of losing cool points to a 10-year-old child?" Robin smirks.

"No, I'm just saying I don't know Jack shit about Prometheus."

"Promethium. Prometheus is a Greek methodical figure, but whatever. All I'm saying is, it's probably being used to make something," Dustin says.

"Or power something," Robin says.

"Like a nuclear weapon?"

"Totally."
