Chapter 6:

~One month later~

A lot had happened over the past month. Steve and I had become friends since. He would always ask if we can hangout. Eleven is now legally Hoppers daughter. It is also the kids school dance. Which they seem to be oh so excited about. In fact, me and Steve are driving Dustin to the dance.

"Here we are. So, remember, once you get in there?" Steve parks in front of the school.

"Pretend like I don't care?"

"You don't care," Steve repeats.

"What? No!" I warn the two.

"I don't care," Dustin says.

"Oh my God, Steve what have you don't to sweet little Dustin?"

"I turned him into a man who gets girls." Steve looks at me.

Dustin looks in the rear view mirror. Steve blocks the mirror, "hey man you look great. You look great. You're going to go in there."

"Yeah."

"You're going to look like a million bucks."

"Yeah."

"And you're going to slay 'em."

"Like a lion," Dustin looks at us. He rolls his "r's" and smirks.

"Don't do that okay?" I squint.

"Okay."

"Good luck." Steve says.

"Good luck Dustin! I love you! Be good!" I yell, as he runs in embarrassment. I turn to Steve and start cracking up. Steve just looks at me like 'why did you just do that?'

"What?" I laugh.

"I didn't say anything!" He puts his hands up in defense. I hum in response and Steve steps on the pedal.

5 months later.
April 20th, 1985

We're driving to a diner called Johnson's Diner. Mostly because my last name is Johnson and he thought it would be funny.

We arrive at Johnson's Diner and take a seat at a booth table. I look through the menu and order f/f and f/d. "I can't believe graduation is in a month," I lean back.

"Right?!" Steve gasps.

"So you wanna apply for Scoops Ahoy at the mall tomorrow?" I raise my eyebrow and smirk.

"Hell yeah," Steve laughs.

"So, I've been accepted in quite a few colleges and I think imma choose the closest one to Hawkins. It actually has a really nice education. HCU, Hawkins College University."

"Nice, you deserve it," Steve smiles.

"I still can't believe you gave Dustin that advice."
